Which pair of wings would you rather have as your best players for one year? Everybody at their peak.

Ginobili/Iguodala.

With Pierce and Allen your perimeter defense is going to be solid, bordering
on good but clearly not anything close to Manu/Iggy levels. I have Iggy as being the best playmaker by a significant Margin at his peak and Manu/Allen nearly identical though I am partial to Manu's aesthetics as a playmaker and originality in comparison to Allen.

Ray Allens volume scoring is an advantage here due to its high efficiency but Manu/Pierce are close (advantage Manu for me) and Iguodala is a distant 4th.

With Allen and Pierce you really want a strong playmaking lead guard to maximize the offense where with Iguodala/Ginobili you can get by with a more 3+D 3rd guard or one who would work well with Pierce/Allen, allowing for a varied team construction and less limited in comparison to Pierce/Allen.

If Manu played the star minutes that peak Pierce/Allen did, this would be close but even his peak years he topped out at barely 30 mpg in 08 and 11 and those were his only years at that level. So, you have Manu for 30 minutes and a league average reserve for 18 playing with Iggy's up to 40 minutes of elite defense/average offense v. Pierce/Allen both playing their 40 minutes of star level peak play. I think that's too big a difference for the Manu pairing to overcome if we are just looking at these two players as the stars on each team. I do think that Manu/Iggy are clearly better complimentary players to a 3rd star (like a Tim Duncan) so team makeup does play a role and if they have that extra star or stars (or truly great depth) then my vote may change.

Ginobili and Iguodala all day. They'd be so easy to build around and they'd make the players around them so much better.

This is one of those threads that make me go from thinking Manu & Iggy are underrated to now thinking actually I guess they're overrated. Or else people forgot how good prime Ray/Pierce were. I'm taking them easily.

Iguodala is by far the 4th best player here, this is easily Pierce and Allen to me

I agree that Iggy is definitely in a tier below the rest of these guys.

I think Manu is the best of the 4, but he is only barely better than Allen/Pierce. So ultimately, I'd go with Allen and Pierce.
