19 PER and a almost .200 WS disagrees with you. Dwight is fine as a backup center.

Noel is better but whatever I am fine with the move.

I haven't watched a basketball game of any kind since the Sixers/Nets series in 2019, so I didn't see him play last season at all.

But I'm perfectly willing to go toe to toe with PER and WS. My eye test >>>>

He played much better last year when you weren't using your eye test.

I guess if its for the lower of the 2 exceptions you cant hardly argue against it.

Kind of interesting LA didn't put up more of a fight to keep him?

He is cheap but i am not sure how much he has left in the tank, mentally and physically, after finally winning the title last year.

This is ABSOLUTELY the move for the price, freeing room to improve our guard situation is a perfect decision

He’s a legit backup C still. Howard is more than capable of 15 mins a night of good D and rebounding.

Is this just to harass Joel in practice?

Depth in this FA class is at the C spot, so a vet minimum signing makes sense. Now Guard help.

Then why didn't he get more than the minimum?

Great move for the minimum. He's still a top 5/10 backup C. Gives you 15/20 min of high intesity D, rebounding and can run the floor a bit.

Because he's old and almost washed. Still good enough to produce in limited minutes, which is all we need.

lol well that's all I said. "He's not very good anymore" is the same thing as saying "He's not what he used to be."

Yeah but when you started out as an 8 time all-star and 1st ballot Hall of Famer, even when you're washed you can still help a team. And for the vet min its a STEAL.

The question is, can Howard play starter mins when Joel is not available?

I'm going to guess yes, around 30 mpg. The rest of the time we'll run smallball with Ben or a stretch 4 as our biggest player on the floor.
