I don't think the model last season was necessarily flawed, rather the execution/they signed players who didn't fit

if Leon is sitting out FA and signing 1yr vets, it likely means he's looking toward the 2021 draft. the key is signing players who fit, and more spacing

the 1 thing I haven't liked is how they handled the draft after the Obi pick. at 23, RJ Hampton was right there and he has legitimate big upside. I like Quickley (and pre-draft said he was 1 of the 5 best shooters and we should get him), but Hampton is would have been a better upside play. Regardless, I think they should have kept #33. 3 rookies is not too many, especially if this year is about development. there were still some quality players: Tillman, Woodard, Ramsey)

the only difference will be the players selected

also the difference is payton, mook, randle took up all our usage and shots and were horrible fits with our young pieces

hopefully the young pieces get true time to develop.

I might be wrong but Grant wasn’t restricted, I believe what happened is he got the offer from Detroit, Denver said they’d pay him the same, Grant chose Detroit

this is not true. Melo played better defense at the 4 spot the year we won 54 games. Also its not true because Randle/Toppin would be a worse defensive rotation
