Same guy, as a scout that talked Popavich into giving European PG Tony Parker a chance. We wish we could have him as gm

I'm not a big fan of Van Vleet, but it honestly wouldn't be the worst signing in the world

Adams doesn't net much of anything.

EDIT: I guess a late 1st rounder in the double draft is nice. I take it back.

Any word on Steven Adam’s being added to Jrue holiday trade ? Something about a four team trade on twitter? Any chance Knicks get in on this

They already got their backups. Ed Davis is good enough to backup Robinson. Plus Toppin and Randle should probably also get some play in small ball lineups at C. Davis was actually considered one of the better backup Cs in the NBA prior to this pass season with the Jazz. He looked brutal but many believe that it was due to the Jazz system which just wasn't compatible with Davis game. Before that Davis was excellent in that role.

Hey I've been saying well before Phil Jackson was hired that the Knicks should be taking some if the GDP of many 3rd world nations they've spent on crap players and GMs and actually go get the best front office exec out there. But nope they got Phil Jackson.

IIRC, I argued that we should go after Presti before he first joined the Thunder in 2007. So naaah!

But yeah. It doesn't make any sense why we've never done this. The current front office is the closest. Walsh tried.

I don't get why Dolan was so quick to hire a new POBO and didn't try to get Presti, who's arguably the best in the business, and there were reports at the time, that he'd be allowed to leave the Thunder if he wanted

For $25+ million over 4 years and the expectation that he'd be the no.1 option on a team like this? Yeah it would be a bad signing. FVV is not fit for that role, that responsibility cause he's just not THAT good. It would be a half baked signing (one foot in to win, one foot in to tank) that the Knicks should be avoiding (cause you'll not be good enough do either well). FVV will become the 2020-2021 version of Randle when everyone realizes he's not able to carry a team.

Probably because Rose and his posse saw the perfect opportunity to step in and take over. Mills basically hung himself promising Dolan that he'd be able to get KD. There was an opening and Rose swooped in...likely through WWW who is tight with Dolan. Now nothing against Rose but yeah sounder minds may have fired Mills, made Mills interim top dog so he can position himself for a real top tier front office guy.

I'm not sure he necessarily cares about being the number one option. The way I see it is that if you basically have no good players, it makes it harder for the younger players to develop. I'm just thinking that adding some shooting and playmaking could help take the pressure off guys like RJ and Obi. No, I don't think Van Vleet is worth a max; however, if it came to a choice between him and Westbrook, I would take him any day of the week because he's younger, makes less money, and won't crowd out any chance for player development.

It's amazing to watch Sam Presti running circles around Leon Rose, the same Presti that OKC was willing to let walk to anyone without compensation.

The only way the Knicks get involved if New Orleans values cap space over Bledsoe or George Hill. I wouldn't be excited over either.

After all the draft compensation and line-up re-jiggering he's done, I'm thinking OKC will STILL have a better record than NY this season.

Players don't get to choose what they want to do. If the Knicks pay him a no.1 guy salary he will need to be a no.1 guy. He's not THAT good. He was an inefficient 3rd option on a more talented and better run team that had 2 guys (Siakam and Lowry) that would instantly be the best players on the Knicks drawing defensive attention away from him and helping set him up. How do you think he'll do here when he becomes the focus of opposing defenses and where he'll not have a Siakam or Lowry to help him out? The notion that he'd have to do less or be responsible for anything but a bigger no.1 option role cause the Knicks have Barrett and Toppin is a far reach to say the least. Hell be expected to carry a load that he can't handle and it will turn into a disaster. The media and fans will rip him to shreds when he can't do the impossible. No one will care he's trying the best he can and doesn't have the team around him to succeed.. How do I know? Cause its happened over and over before.. to guys that were better and more talented than him right here in NY. Thats how.
