Ok, so for Hayward it turned out to be:

Got it.

Are we even sure the Pacers had a competitive offer (to Gordon) on the table at this point? Doesn’t feel like it now.

Yes. Washburn reported it and is very reliable.

Bad Danny. Bad. Let’s see what he does the rest of the short offseason, but as of now? Yikes.

Are they really gonna stretch Batum over 3 years to make this work? If this isn’t sign and trade then it’s a massive blunder on our end

1 championship in almost 20 years is a joke. That’s not even mediocre. Let’s be honest if Danny didn’t play for the Celtics and won championships here, is he still the president of operations here, I doubt it.

Well, Charlotte can give Hayward a deal starting at around $28M if they renounce Lamello Ball. They can also trade Rozier, Batum or Zeller into some other team's cap space. Rozier to the Knicks is a possibility now that Van Vleet is off the market.

Are we sure of this? For all we know, Hayward was the one holding things up cause Indy didn't want to make nearly as big an offer as Charlotte just did. That's a lot of money. It's not just a "cool, that's a bit rich but let's see what we can do" deal. It's more like a "yeah we're not in the same ballpark type deal, good luck to you and yours" type deal.

Yeah, feels like people are jumping to odd conclusions now. The hold up over the last 24 hours was actually more probably because the Hornets came in with a “holy ****” offer and Indy and Boston were like “what? okay...fine.”

People jumping to conclusions that there was an actual written offer and accepted with Ainge being the one holding back is interesting. It’s much more likely the above happened than anything else as most people were thinking in the 20-25 million range for Hayward. Not 30.

good thing Danny didn't trade the #30 pick in the draft and took Hayward's replacement Robert Woodard II or Tyler Bey...oh wait. Like with this, he got cute and played. What's the word that seems to trigger his apologists? Hubris?

I’m starting to believe that hayward had the Charlotte deal in his back pocket the whole time and was waiting for the pacers to up their money offer.

Maybe the deal was never as close as we thought

He obviously wanted Indy and Ainge misplayed his hand.

Hornets have Graham, Monk and Ball so maybe they don't need Rozier anymore.

I'd gladly take him back as backup PG
