He'll be a 38%+ shooter from 3 with us. Don't worry about that.

This is another band-aid move, but it's better than bleeding to death.

So you wouldn't have done the deal for Jrue?

No. That package of picks is absolutely mind-boggling. Jrue will be an unrestricted free agent seeking a max contract at age 31 next summer. This is mind-blowing. And I like Jrue a lot as a player. The Bucks will be better next year. But it's not worth it. It's probably not even close unless Giannis signs a 5-year extension AND they win a title. Both those things are in serious jeopardy right now IMO.

the only way we were ever sign giannis OR win a title was to make a move like this. are their risks? sure. is it going to cost alot of cash? sure.

this season was really our last big shot at roster composition for giannis and jrue is probably the top guy this offseason to shift squads. let that sink in. its a good move. it has risks but its a really good move.

Horst and the billionaires are overmatched in trying to compete with the well run franchises in the league. Giannis papers over a lot but these "small" mistakes and overpays keep happening and compounding on each other. Now we are in a off-season of the utmost importance and the team's moves reek of desperation and incompetence. Giannis signing 5 years will of course make everyone feel better. But the FO needs to change and Bud should be on high alert after the past 2 playoff failures. I am hoping for the best, but expecting to be disappointed...it's just the reality of being a Bucks fan for 30+ years. But now we are better than we've been in my lifetime, so it'd be real nice if the team can get their act together!

If Giannis doesn't sign, sure it's a bad deal. But we had to go all in to try and keep him in the first place. If Giannis signs, everything is fine. Jrue won't be receiving a max deal from anybody. I can see him signing a 4/120 like Hayward just did. I'd gladly trade Middleton in a 2 for 1 if we don't win the title next year in order to keep Jrue on a deal like that. Makes Jrue's contract irrelevant.

So this contract is needed for the Bogdan trade when that's allowed?

Can’t trade new signees until 60 days after either first traded for or signed. At least that’s what I think.

Interesting to note that almost 75% of Augustin's 3PA last year were from 25+ feet and shot those at 37%, compared to 31% from 22-24 feet. Seems like a guy that will fit right in to the Bud Ball system.

For what it's worth, Portis also shot over half of his 3s from 25+ but his percentages are about the same - 37%... Portis was 42% from corner 3s. DJ hit 52% the season before.

So trade in January and all is forgotten. Kings get DDV and are happy. 8-)

Good back up. Horst was never good at getting value deals.

I don't understand the deal being 3 years

But a decent pick up anyways

I heard because of the condensed season it's no longer 60 days. But I could be wrong

Hill is one year older than Augustin, but four inches taller.
I don’t know, to me Bledsoe/Hill is slightly preferable to Holiday/Augustin. And then we add in 3 first round picks and 2 pick swaps...

Could have just kept Bledsoe and done the Bogdan trade (with the first round picks and Hill going to SAC) in an iteration to pay him more and we could have had:

Bledsoe/Augustin
Bogdan/DDV/Pat
Middleton
Giannis/Portis
Brook

Or we could have gotten Schroder and Bobo and re-routed Bledsoe somewhere. Probably to LA Lakers for #28 pick.

The lack of acknowledgement of the 3 1sts/2 pick swaps from a lot of fans on twitter is a head scratcher to say the least.

Who cares. If Giannis stays the picks aren't worth much and if he leaves we"ll be irrelevant 8th seed chasers for many years anyway.

He's around 50% off of catch and shoot threes I believe and above 40% in the playoffs last two years. Good signing. Hoped it could've been for half the MLE but this market seems super inflated so i'm not suprised

He's smart, can dribble and shoot. What is there to complain about for a backup PG with what we had to work with? Solid compliment to Jrue as a backup or to play together with Jrue off the ball.

Feel much better about this after seeing Avery Bradley's contract. Yikes.
