Why try to sign any for any of these overpaid players when we're nowhere close to competing just yet? We should be using our cap space to take on bad contracts with assets attached.

hayward at 120 mill over 4 years is ridiculous and I'm ecstatic we didn't give him that kind of deal. Same with FVV, throwing 20+ mill at a guy who isn't what we need right now unless he's going to single handedly will us into the playoffs which he couldn't with this current roster.

Get a garbage player like Batum who's on his last year, and request Charlotte give us Monk and an unprotected FRP so they have enough money to sign out Hayward. That's the kind of transactions we need to be doing right now. We're so far away from competing and we've been doing a good job (relatively speaking) of collecting assets and building a young core. No shortcuts.
