4 year, $120M is insane for Gordon. Dodged a bullet here.

I support your positivity, but I do think it is possible they didn't need us to offer a basketballplayer that much money .
No big loss and I do feel like we are better off without making a deal with the Celtics, being too generous on our part for a hometown player.

Not necessarily. It sounds like he would be here if Indy and Boston had been able to work out a deal. They weren't able, so he's gotta do something else.Scoot McGroot wrote:Sounds like Indy was the negotiating ploy for Hayward to get more money, in all likelihood.

Regardless of Hayward’s situation there is no doubt that several teams will be calling KP to inquire about the cost to acquire Turner, especially now that his availability is established.

Well, that escalated quickly. Good on Hayward getting his money. Too rich for our blood, no doubt.

Has it been? Rumors are Boston asked for Turner and we refused. That makes him available?Boneman2 wrote:Regardless of Hayward’s situation there is no doubt that several teams will be calling KP to inquire about the cost to acquire Turner, especially now that his availability is established.

The report said the Pacers offered Myles + Doug, Boston refused and wanted more.

I kept an eye on Wiretap, but never saw anything mentioning specific offers.

There were a few tweets posted in the GB thread saying that Indy offered Turner and McDermott and that Boston refused and wanted Turner + Warren or Oladipo.

Sometimes. There are some really good news writers that can find leaks on their own. Boston, however, is notorious for printing exactly what Ainge wants printed.

Glad it worked out for all parties. Hayward got his cash and we didn't have to give anything up.
