Ainge has a lifetime contract with Boston and total and complete immunity. He'll never be fired.

Danny **** this whole thing up. But he didn't do it today. It happened months ago.
Did that help?
who would you have traded Hayward for months ago that would have improved our situation. Please tell me.
How could I possibly give you an answer to a hypothetical that only danny ainge is privy to with knowledge I could never attain?
He had 3 years to read the room on hayward and he read the wrong book.
he was hurt and way overpaid for 2.8 years of that with no value at all. We would have had to trade picks away to dump him for worse players.

I have legitimate loss confidence and Danny fixing the bench. it was awful last year and I don't see him signing anyone else this year
Having a decent bench has always been his achilles heel. The big 3 needed just one decent center after Perk got traded but he never filled in that void. And still to this date we never had a solid big for several seasons who could clog the paint for us when needed, probably only Baynes in short spurts of the bench.
Ainge has only one problem and that's the fact that he outsmarts himself each and everytime since the Billy King fleecing. The league has changed and players have the upperhand now. That's one of the reasons we never had a solid bench contributor.
But still doesn't say that Ainge is bad and should be fired. He's one of the best gm's in the league. He just needs to compromise sometimes in deal. You can't fleece a team each and everytime.
The bench is already worse than it was last year because they don't have Kanter and Smart is in the starting lineup. It's never a good sign, which is the case for this team when you don't know who your best bench player is.

Sounds like someone we know saying they'd never lose Georgia.
You can't bring your self to say that losing hayward for nothing is nothing short of a huge mistake.
Which means you're not really interested in playing with facts.

Re: Trade Thread #7: The Tide is Turning, but still Myles to go
Everybody knew Hayward wasn't going to make a decision yesterday. We had multiple reports yesterday that certain guys deals would be done and others would drag on. Hayward wasn't a guy that was getting done yesterday. Everybody was pretty confident in that. He takes his time and weighs his options.
Yes, he was highly interested in Indiana. Acting like the Charlotte deal wasn't on the table is silly though. Do we think Charlotte just all of the sudden decided to make an offer? Come on. Indiana and Boston were negotiating a framework that would be executed if Hayward agreed to a deal with Indiana. He took the Charlotte offer though. If he wanted the Indiana offer, he would be in Indiana.

If you told Gordon Hayward after the season ended that he would get a 4/120million contract he would have laughed at you
Really?
Like with horford?
I don't think so. Sounds to me like a gm who can't read the market anymore.

Look at the Celtics bigs. He would easily start on this team.
Theis >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Whiteside
Even Timelord is better than Whiteside...and I'm far from a Rob Williams fan.
rwill cant stay healthy enough to be better than anybody, Theis is my man ! but undersized
If Hassan's head is right, he is far superior to both in talent, ELITE big
Is his head right ? I would roll the dice right now after losing Kanter and presumably Turner ...

I mean sucks to lose him for nothing is the bottom line but at same time there's no way he should have stayed here on that same deal, even if it was 4 yrs/100.

It's not about the return. It's about the cap hold.
If danny can manage atleast to create a trade exception in the same area as hayward contract then I'll calm down.

No one will care. We have better future assets than the Lakers. All good.
Unless you can ask God to move Boston to California or Florida, the Lakers will win 5 titles for every title we win from now until the end of time and there's literally nothing we can do about it. This franchise has been run to damn near perfection up until last offseason with nothing to show for it while LA just **** themselves left and right, being bailed out by guys desire to live there. Unfortunately for us, nobody will join a 15 win team with the worst management in the game because of how excited they are to live in Salem. We got guys leaving a 50 win, ECF team for 15 win teams instead. Tough ****.
Mate that’s loser talk! Nothing we can do? All we need to do is help speed up global warming. Just imagine all of our chips then! C’mon, as a collective I reckon we got this!!!

So you think it's totally reasonable to lose Irving, Hayward and Horford and to get nothing out of it?
That any GM in the league would of done the same?
Come on man I feel like it's so **** obvious that there's no way youre being serious.

Giles and Harrison? Can we pull that off?

Drafting Yabusele was a mistake. Signing Hassan Whiteside would be a mistake.
Losing Hayward was part of the game. Trading him last year would have been a mistake because we actually had a punchers chance at a title if he was healthy (100% would have made the finals at least) and once you're past that point it's no longer in your hands to keep him.
Out of all the players Danny lost, Rozier was the only one we should have traded before he had the chance to leave.

But, we cant have 4 max cap holds (or close to max) which is what we would have if we had traded him for another max. We lost out on 25 m we were willing to keep. this season we can add 15m of "cap hold" with MLE and BLE. Next year another 5m. So that's like 5 m off of where we need to be. If he was that worried about cap holds he'd have just kept Kanter.
