Yeah it's not Beal, we are clearly doing this to trade for Luka.

Players that could fit into a 30mil TPE:

Horford
Wiggins
Drummond
Batum

Woo let's do this.

Batum and Drummond make me barf and Horfords term...aye yiyi

You can't add salary to make it larger, but is that the only real restriction? Can you send out draft picks as part of a trade that uses it? In the hypothetical Bogan situation, what can the Celtics send to the Kings to make it happen?

We can absorb any player we can trade/sign for in the TPE for up to the amount of (I think SMTBSI said $21mil?)

Thanks, but what can the Celtics send out?

Yeah lol

We want a TPE obviously, but it's not for him.

So I’ve alluded to it in the past, but I’m bipolar.

I’m glad half of this board has that in common with me.

We still need a rim protector, legit big though. TT should definitely start over Theis.

Theis is twice the defender TT is though.

Rim protection is kind of a fools gold stat if it comes at the cost of switches.

Same reason Theis would have started over Turner.

That and Theis is really **** good.

There is an argument for verticality on offense with Smart starting though (if he is) to play TT and sacrifice the defense and hope Smart makes up for the defensive sacrifice there to make it worth it to start TT over Theis.

Talk dirty to me, Jared.

This Jared Guy .. had kept us on Hayward to InD .. I don’t trust him
It appears to be an opinion . That said I dont want to hear about avoiding luxury tax. The team is worth over $ 3 billion. The Nets are spending money as if they're printing it, no luxury tax problems. Joe Harris $20 million per.....no problem...done deal....now on to Ibaka, and we'll still go after Harden. STOP WITH BEING UNDER THE TAX. Enough! Put on your big boy pants.
Get the trade exception at the least from Charlotte and be prepared to really try to use it creatively. Hayward going to Charlotte may end up being a blessing in disguise. What if Beal wants out into the season with the whole John Wall circus? The Celtics could be in play on anyone. No one says we have to use it right away
Brad Stevens on fans who want the Celtics to tank: "I don’t think they’ll like me all that much then."

Today's events on this board reminded me of the words of the great George Harrison:

Wah-wah
I don't need no wah-wah
And I know how sweet life can be
If I keep myself free, wah-wah
I don't need no wah-wah

Besides Bogdan, who are realistic TPE targets in that $12-$20M range? I know we can’t aggregate the salaries but we can still trade players with the TPE right? Like for value to the other team?

Don't ruin the fun

And it's a great idea, for a spitball. Not even sure how it works, but Bogi would be amazing here. He's a better fit than Hayward was.

Is Drummond expiring? Not sure Ainge would drop 40 mil on centers in one offseason!

All we have to do is send them a few 2nd's like we did for them in the Rozier trade.

I disagree with TT over Theis. Theis was really really good last year.

I like TT though. Upgrade over Kanter for sure.

Bogdanovich is a nice player but I feel like I'm on crazy pills. I don't want to invest $20M in any wing at this point.

Financial sanity! Feel the burn!
