I think we're a bit numb and in shock and also apathetic to it already

it helps if we wanna use him pat of the S&T to get someone else

Exactly. The blocks on midrange shots is really the only thing he does well.

I mean, he’s a likable dude, fun guy to cheer for. His skill level just isn’t there though. That’s a guy who makes his career going from minimum contract to minimum contract, not whatever the hell we thought he was worth

Having a hard time figuring out how we went from 2/$8 to 3/$16 for him simply giving up his option year. Nobody is paying Pat $8mm next summer if he opted out.

We need more wings and probably another big - Torrey Craig and Baynes would be great. Is that possible or did we spend all our money on Captain Pat?

Isn't Thanasis also signed through next year?

Trade Thanasis, most here forget even to mention him on the roster.. :D

If there really isn't some other angle, this has got to be the worst FO move since Vasquez.

It only makes sense if it is a single year guaranteed, 2 non. The crap we messed up move, we don't want to screw you out of that option year, but we need to make this work, would have been 3/12.5 or so.

Sucks but it is what it is. At this point you just have to hope the team can put it all together one time.

But yea, starting the season with -less- wing depth and a bigger role for Pat is the opposite of what I wanted to see.

I still think the Bucks changed Pat's contract to a 3 yr deal is to do a S&T trade. Maybe Bogdan's deal is back on and just waiting to see what's the highest offer Bogdan can get in RFA.

Choosing to believe Pat is going out in trade for at least as long as it's a bit feasible.

Even if the s&t doesn't come, you'd rather pay him a little more this year (assuming they can duck the tax for the amount this takes them over) with only this year guaranteed vs the previous deal of 2 years guaranteed.
Holding out hope for some complicated s&t like the rest though.

Really this off-season will all come down to whether GA signs the supermax when he is back from Greece. A+ if he does (with/without Bogi). B (less that supermax, but signs a 2+1 at least), F (doesn't sign anything).

so as of now we have 13 out of 15 roster spots filled right? Do we have any of the MLE left or just minimums?

Pat's a fringe rotation player on a contender. I don't think giving him three guaranteed years makes any sense. But if it's only one guaranteed year, than he effectively becomes an expiring that you can use as a trade piece at the deadline or even next year. So, there's some value to it.

But I just wish we could have spent that money as part of a move for a better player.

Ooops, missed Thanasis...

Jrue/DJ Aug/...
Donte/.../Merill
Midds/Patty/Nwora
Giannis/Wilson/Thanasis
Lopez/Portis/...

2 way - Jalen Adams/...

Nwora is more of a 4, but we are pretty loaded at the 4, so I put him as a 3. Still want Torrey Craig behind Donte. Baynes should be Brooks backup, Portis should backup Gianiss.

We gave Miles Plumlee 52 million and just traded 3 1st round picks and two swaps with zero protection on them for a marginal upgrade.

Pat Connaughton isn't good, but 3/16 is pretty far down the list.
