Bummer. Seems like Clips missing out on Montrez and Green at that same # put them in the mix here. Wonder what would have happened if either of those guys had gone there instead.

What's done is done though, curious to see how Marks adjusts. Jeff Green may have already been a partial hedge on this happening.

I think Saric will get more, but obviously I would want him.

Otherwise Morris wouldn't be a bad option at the 4.

Was going back through an old Hollinger article from a few weeks ago and he had suggested a trade of Price for Rudy Gay. That would make some sense. Gay is expiring so there's 1 less year, SA gets the younger player with some upside. Not sure how I'd feel about it but Prince really looked out of place last year.

Considering the Clippers could offer more money and probably more playing time, it would’ve been foolish for him not to go. I can’t fault him for taking the deal.

called it.

To me, the Nets got lured into this James Harden nonsense and everything else fell by the wayside.

we lost out on Covington and have yet to use our MLE. what are we doing here???

Covington is not worth 2 draft picks. His 3 point shooting has basically fallen off a cliff.

I don't really know who we missed out on with our MLE anyway. The roster is basically full. Jeff Green was a good addition.

Kyrie/Dinwiddie/Brown
Levert/Shamet
Durant/Harris
Prince/Green/Kurucs
Jordan/Allen/Claxton

What more do we really need? If anything we need to consolidate.

Seeking Harden has serious consequences and we are seeing it already but let's wait and see. It will be more than worth it if he comes or Beal comes. The current Nets team is good but it's just that the contenders made better moves overall which puts the pressure on the Nets to improve their roaster further. Lakers and other contenders made better moves. This Ibaka news was disappointing but they should look for alternative move now. They have to.

I feel the frustration no doubt. Will just hope for the best now. Hope Marks knows what he is doing. KD and Kyrie are brought to win a title not just make final appearance or the ECF. KD's prime is very limited. The GM has to keep that in mind and keep improving the roaster like other contenders.

We were clearly in the running for Ibaka but LA is just a better situation. I don't think money played a role or he would've went to the Raptors or signed a longer deal. Zubac played less than 20 MPG last year and doesn't have the clout to complain. DJ in front of Ibaka meant his time would be limited.

I feel like we went all in on Ibaka and missed out on some really good players. I see five options left. Two only work if JA is 100% gone.

Kent Bazemore
Torrey Craig
Marc Gasol
Aron Baynes
Markieff Morris

All solid options I'd be happy with. Craig is type of defensive forward that every team is looking for. He'd be my top option. If we end up needing a backup center, Marc Gasol should be our target.

Yeah, I think people are jumping the gun a bit here. I wanted Ibaka but this has nothing to do with the Harden stuff. The offseason isn't over yet and we've added Brown, Shamet, and Green. Awesome fits. 3 rotation guys for basically just the 19th pick and the vet min. We still have the MLE to use + plenty of time for trades.

Marc Gasol would be great as a backup center.

Guys, all we pretty much had to spend was the MLE and less. There isn't that many guys we could of got with that to begin with, alot of these guys got way more than that. We didn't need Dwight or Rondo and guys like that. Most of the wing guys got way more than that. Only option was that or Sign a trade. I thought there would of been more vets willing to come here and sign for cheap but these dudes are signing for a lot more than we could of offered either way.

I like Gasol but transition defense is going to be so important for us. Giannis and Simmons are great when they can go downhill and score easy baskets before the defense has a chance to get set. If we force them into playing in the half court, we drastically reduce their effectiveness. I remember Jared Dudley talked about this in the Philly series.

DJ is already really slow. If we added more old slow footed centers like Gasol or Baynes, are we risking getting run off the court?

The Raptors didn’t want to compromise their money for 2021 free agency, because they believe they have a good shot at Giannis.

From what I read, they were offering a sizable 1yr contract.

I don’t want him. He’s slow as molasses and can only play 10-15mpg before his his weaknesses are exploited and outweigh his positives.

We should chase Baynes at this point if we're going to use the MLE.

I love how this team build as it is. We already know that supporting cast can get 7th seed for sure. Now let KD and Kyrie prove rest of the league they're an elite talent.
Nash has one of the deepest teams with elite talent and one of the better coaching stuffs out there. I'm ready for this season to start now.
