Re: Welcome to Boston, Tristan Thompson!
I really like Thompson. But it's hard to be happy about this after all the other things that have transpired. Dude is a beast though
I apologize for the things I have said in the past.

Re: Welcome to Boston, Tristan Thompson!
Imagine being such an awful franchise that you would actually retire Tristan Thompson's number. Wow.
One of his accolades is that he didn't complain when he was really bad at basketball.

I don't believe in statistics. There are too many factors that can't be measured. You can't measure a ballplayer's heart. -Red Auerbach

TT has a career...
BPM of -1.6
DBPM of -1.3
2019/20 PIPM of -2.15 (yuck)
OTOH, he a solid rebounder, but so was Kanter. I really want to see Robert Williams get into shape and get 20min+ per game.
Rather have Horford back with a trade involving Kemba. Say what you want about Horford, but he's elite in passing and on the D-boards.

Vet depth in the frontcourt, I'm in. If he can repeat his 3pt% from last season all the better but I'll believe that one when I see it.

Re: Welcome to Boston, Tristan Thompson!
Love this move for you guys. Short term deal no risk, all upside, and fills the biggest needs.
People forget TT is still only 29 yrs old and has plenty left in the tank.
Dropped 12/10/1blk last year. He was a key piece for the championship Cavs. He’s just unmotivated in Cleveland and I’m expecting a nice bounce back on a contender.
He also does bring a level of championship experience to a team on the cusp of breaking through.
His best years are still ahead. Great signing.

I would still prefer Myles Turner, but Tristan Thompson is a nice consolation prize.

Re: Welcome to Boston, Tristan Thompson!
I don't hate it. I don't love it either.
I hope the second year is guaranteed and not a player option. I'm tired of having no contracts to trade. We figure to reset the tax this year but then go back over int he next two years. Having mid-level salaries to trade are one of the only avenues we'll have to improvement.

I’d rather have Kanter and Baynes at 5m each than Thompson at 10m.

I actually prefer Thompson to Turner just based off rebounding. Thompson actually started taking and hitting 3s at a great clip last year. Very happy with this signing
