I have us at 14 including Klay's deal.

You're missing Smiley and Lee has a partial 600K guarantee.

Mulder's deal is non guaranteed if he's waived before the opener. I think Mannion will get a 3 year deal. I'd swap him with Mulder.

Color me unimpressed. As constructed, the 2020-2021 Warriors roster look like it has the potential to be the most expensive 40 win team in NBA history.

Klay is missing there as is Smiley, Lee is partially guaranteed like Mulder.

that tends to happen when you lose your 2nd best player for the season

so we basically have 1 roster spot open? more if we want to waive a partial?

Prior to Klays injury if you told me we were adding Wiseman, Mannion, Oubre, and Wanamaker I would’ve felt pretty good about our offseason. But with the Klay injury I know we are all looking at backup wing and thinking that this might be tough without an additional legit vet coming in.

Gasol off the bench at C and GR3 and I am comfortable with this team.

Curry, Wannamaker, Mannion
Wiggins, Poole, Lee
Oubre, GR3,
Draymond, Paschall, Smailagic
WIsemean, Gasol, Chriss, Looney

I think we look to trade Chriss for a developmental/cheap 3 and D wing??

Pending any other major moves, I can't say I feel great about it. But as long as we have Steph and Draymond, we have a chance. Oubre was a good addition. Wiseman is the X Factor, he could be an immediate unstoppable force or completely useless. Manion I have no idea but not expecting anything. Not a fan of Poole so far but we'll see, maybe he'll surprise and be useful. Paschall should improve a bit and be useful.

Maybe we get lucky and someone takes out the Lakers for us and we only have to go through Houston and Portland or something. One thing is for sure, if we get to the top, some luck will be required.

Bummed out we couldn't grab Ibaka. GRIII would help fill some gaps.

OK, let's sort out were we stand now.

Curry-Wanamaker-Mannion
Wiggins-Lee-Poole
Oubre Jr.
Dray-Paschall-Smiley
Wiseman-Chriss-Looney

With Klay roster stands at 14. I am counting out Mulder and JTA. I think they will be waived, simply being caught up in the numbers game. Unless either will absolutely explode in the short training camp. Or did the Warriors pencil in JTA as a backup SF?
I don't think they are touching Lee. He showed to be adequate and will definitely pass as a backup, especially until Poole raises his game and proves otherwise. It also doesn't hurt that he is Curry's brother in law.

1. PG position is shored up.

2. Unless they penciled in JTA as a backup SF, I would like to get GR3. The questions here are does he want to come back on the minimum contract, does he want to come here, period, does the Warriors decision makers want him back and is he better than JTA?

3. I have definite concerns on C position due to Wiseman being 19 year old rookie and there is no legit starting C other than he.
The Warriors applied for the DPE, meaning when they get approval for it, I believe they intend to use it. It is useless to apply for it and stash it away. I believe the big is where they are looking at. I don't think Warriors can compete for Ibaka. He's in the range of the 4 years 40 mil deal just for starters. Why would he take 1 year 9.3 mil unless he is dreaming of another deal dwarfing the current one.
Enter Gasol. But with the interest in him from other contenders and him having that Spain option, I think the MLE option for him is in play any longer. I don't think he sticks around for the MLE. For DPE, maybe.
The only other option I see that can POSSIBLY make the difference is Cousins. But that in itself is such a scary proposition. Where does his game and his health stand?

Bottom line, should then bring any 2 of the above, they not only have to waive Mulder and JTA but do something with one more player. The only option I see there is Mannion on the 2 way deal. But I understand they are looking to sign him to a 3 year deal ala Paschall to keep his rights after the rookie season.

What does everyone think?

For centers Baynes might be another option still available.

I think it all comes down to using our length in our starting lineup to disrupt shots and passing lanes and let Curry's gravity open things up offensively. We have good length and athleticism in the starting lineup, if we can guard tight and funnel the offensive player into Wiseman inside we will be a great defense.

But at the end of games I think we're gonna have to go small and put our foot all the way down on the gas. Attempting to trap or double on Curry at the end of games with Dray facilitating the ball to Wiggins, Paschall, and Oubre will be really tough to defend.

I think Wiseman will just be average. He’s an ideal modern day center that can switch on defense. He’s doesn’t look dominating physically like O’Neal or Wilt, so he will have to rely on being a skilled center.

We are competing for No 8 seat this year. Just not a lot of offense when you dont have Klay. We should add someone like Rondo otherwise Curry's health is going to be an issue. We added a few young wings but you just can't put a lot of hope on them.

Rondo's off the table. Signed with the Hawks if I'm not mistaken.

Totally agree. 6th seed as best. Most of our stars didn't play much compared to other teams. Curry get lot of 4th quarters rest and day off. Now, those are out of the door. Yes, Curry will get 4th quarter rest when we get blown out. This is a totally a different team, 2nd unit is questionable, too many holes to fill and we can't because of the cap. Our only hope now is Wiseman turn out to be a decent player.

I'd say it's a safe bet that OKC ain't getting that Top 20 protected first rounder in exchange for Oubre.
