Feel like if Ibaka was okay taking the MLE with a 1 and 1 player option he's likely looking to re-enter free agency once more teams have cap room in 2021. So don't know how Miami couldn't get a 1 and 1 team option done. Could have done a S&T with Toronto for Olynyk to give Ibaka 13mil starting and still have the MLE for Bradley and Harkless.

Ibaka went cheap compared to guys like Grant.

Having said that, it’s still the 2nd year PO that is inhibiting us from getting involved.

Whether it’s the right strategy or not will depend on how 2021 shakes out. Wait to judge.

With a player option he has insurance in case he get injured. A team option would be the opposite of that.

I really can't wait to see how Master P fits into our system. I heard he is a workhorse that put Memphis on his back. Constantly working on his game. Sounds like a HEAT guy to me. He shot 30%+ from deep on just over 1 attempt per game. If he is able to expand on that and also increase his FT% he will be such a great asset for the 2nd unit.

I feel like a deal including Olynyk and Nunn is likely, but hey, could be mistaken.

If not, I don’t think we have much left in us for 2021.

PG - Herro / Dragic / Vincent
SG - Butler / Bradley / Nunn
SF - Robinson / Harkless / Okpala
PF - Adebayo / Achiuwa
C - Leonard / Olynyk / Haslem

Still looks thin at the 5. I’d expect a lot of players to play up a position too (eg Harkless mostly at the 4, Bradley may scarily play some 3).

Barring additional roster manuevers, the likely starting 5 opening night will be:

Nunn
Robinson
Butler
Bam
Leonard

Herro will continue his role coming off the bench and I dont suspect Dragic will ready to play by then.

Be good if we cld round this roster out w/ a decent defensive centre. What centre is left out there? I feel this possibly may be our last move.

I’m pleased we’re focused on adding defensive players. I love me some defense!

2008 LA Lakers:
- lost the finals in 6 games to the Celtics
- dropped the first 2 in the series
- won game 3
- lost a close game 4
- won a close game 5
- got dismantled and embarrassed in game 6

2020 Miami Heat:
- lost the finals in 6 games to the Lakers
- dropped the first 2 in the series
- won game 3
- lost a close game 4
- won a close game 5
- got dismantled and embarrassed in game 6

08 Lakers, despite losing the finals, brought back the same team the following year and won the championship.

Interesting to think about..

Interesting....

The diff here is LA had already built a Championship quality unit, where as we’re not done & still in the process. If somehow Giannis demands a trade within the nxt few weeks we’re in business to replicate that!

Well, Atleast Boston didn’t get him.

Honestly he's old, but still...wouldn't we be better off adding Milsap to the starting 5 instead of adding Harkless + Bradley for "depth"? (hoping none of them start)

I'm high on the Bradley signing plugs up a need for us. Harkless doesn't do much for me but for what we'll use him for he will be fine. I don't mind not picking up Millsap at age 35 at that price point.

Millsap will be lucky to play 20 solid mins a game next season where Bradley could play close to 25-27mins here and would be a good partner for Herro or Robinson coming off the bench.

Anybody still think losing Crowder and adding Harkless + Bradley is a good offseason?
