This signing I like a lot, we need a rim protector on the court at all times, I wouldn’t have minded a 2 year deal with a club option for a third for him, he fits.Perfect backup for Mitch.

Yeah I actually agree. This is a solid all around Knicks off-season. Just wait until the 2021 off-season how bad most of these long-term deals will look. Even Payton, I think Thibodeau could squeeze some juice out of him.

Aside from dreading a Randle-Payton starting line-up, I agree.

Letting clubs lock down their salary structures in a year without too many key free agents is a good sit this one out strategy going into 2021.

Hoping the kids get playing time. That's all I ask. Let these short-term signings not be full time minutes guys

That’s the big if, do those 2 clowns start? If they come off the bench and know their role, OK, but if they start, they’re going to start that hero ball bull, hope Thibs doesn’t put them in that position. Coming off the bench may humble their overinflated image of themselves.

This is just another mercenary signing. He's here trying to get a big deal after this year.

I'd rather they just used the cap space to absorb bad contracts in exchange for assets, than put on this facade of trying to go for it, but also being frugal.

I can get behind this signing. First signing that isn’t offensive and makes sense. Seems like we’re committing to a defensive philosophy, but the lack of outside shooting continues to be a sore spot.

We need a solid shooting 3/4 forward. I'm afraid Iggy ain't the answer there.

Noel will make Mitch work for that starting spot. He's still just 26 and he has a really solid year in OKC last year. I'm really just so relieved that we're doing this and not going out and signing 30+ year olds to 4 year contracts hoping to sneak into the playoffs.

In fairness we haven't done this since the Phil Jackson years.

Which was 3 years ago. This is the 2nd legit off-season we've had without Phil. 3 years ago we "mutually parted ways" 3 days before free agency started. It's also what we did for the past 20 years before him.

With ties to Westbrook, Hayward and a few other guys, it's not completely outlandish to still have trepidation about this type of stuff just because we didn't do that last year.

Not bad, but I would have preferred Baynes, even if it meant another year. We needed a PF/C that can stretch the floor as a change of pace for the 2nd unit or a different look if we needed more spacing.

The only problem I have is that we fired Steve Mills for doing the exact same thing we doing now.

Great guy to teach Mitch. Nerlens is one of the worst offensive players in the league but one of the top defensive. If Mitch can pick some things up from him he'll be a force. Doesn't have Noel's speed but he's bigger and just as quick.
