Obviously. But Norm has to be part of the package.

Is OG now our 5? Obviously he played great against the Celtics at the 5th spot. Maybe not all the time but he's more of a stretch 4. More shots for him, but only catch and shoots and drives.

Giles and Baynes on one year deals ate likely the best options on the FA market.

Best case scenario seems like Gasol signing big 1 year deal, Giles signs a 1 year plus club option for year 2 and then if we need a 5 by the deadline can always do something like McCaw and a couple 2nds for Richaun Holmes.

At the deadline, a move like Powell to a team needing a wing, then McCaw, Johnson and Giles/Baynes to the Cavs along with an asset and expiring from the team getting Powell could bring back Stevens Adams or Drummond.

Right now I believe we have 39M in cap space in 2021 and even if we miss out on Giannis and Kawhi and Oladipo, we can either trade for a big contact into the space while giving little in return or even getting slick for like Horford, Blake griffin or Westbrook or Wall or add 2-3 firsts and get a better player, or pay one guy 20-25M like Lowry, Gobert, Adams or Drummond and trade for another guy making around that much whose team wants to shed.

We could also do something like Powell for a young center making under 6M and an expiring like say if we threw in a first and Chicago gave us Wendell Carter and Felicio, or Powell to a team needing a wing and they send a late first to Chicago planning to resign him. Hell, we could do that kind of deal for John Collins (maybe we throw in another first or Boucher) and still have 27M in cap space to get another player with his cap hold being 12M, and can get to 30 by dealing Matt Thomas.

But for now, Boucher will get a real shot along with one of Gasol, Whiteside or Baynes I reckon, to ensure we have some beef to guard an Embiid type.

The cheapest option, would be the guy we tried to get at the end of last year. Bismack didn't opt out because he wanted minutes, that's not a problem now. He's a UFA now too.

panic move

McCaw and Davis for Richaun Holmes.

Heck maybe McCaw + 2nd for Bjelica. Going to need someone who can run the offense in the 2nd unit and shoot the ball,

Really do not like this idea of refusing to take on long term salary just to be a player in the 2021 market.

Toronto does NOT and never has had a great history of poaching premium free agents and that's unlikely to change for a variety of reasons. So unless Masai has a backdoor guarantee from Giannis that he's signing here or some kind of leverage to make sure he signs here, we could be passing on some great opportunities for what is essentially a pipe dream.

Masai is a brilliant GM but if I were him, I would be preparing the team as if he's not coming. We are not the only team that has their sights set on him and our competitors have much better rosters and assets than we do.

I would be working the hell out of the phones to see what it takes to get a Oladipo and Turner package. If Giannis really wants to come here, we can always send Siakam back in a S&T or a deadline deal to ensure the Bucks are compensated for their loss. That will be much more attractive than losing him for nothing to the Heat and it allows us to start constructing a roster around him right now.

If Giannis wants to be here that bad, he'll find a way the same way Anthony found his way to NYK, Kawhi found his way to LA and Davis found his way to the Lakers. But what we can't do is sit around with our thumb up our asses waiting for Giannis to save us.

Nah. I prefer Bobby and Masai's strategy. Competent development and coaching raising the floor, excellent asset management, and
a defensive winning philosophy that keeps us perpetually within one piece of a title. Build it and he will come.

I was hoping Serge's contract was high engouh to force a sign and trade, so we could ask for Kabengele.

Also, I would see if we could sign Juan Hernangomez.

I don't think that's enough. Kabengele is on a 1st round rookie contract. I'd trade TD and Dewan for Kabengele. I would trade TD and Boucher too. Does the qualifying offer transfer if traded? This is cost effective.

Can't disagree with you. Adding dewan wouldn't bother me either but when I thought of that trade I asked myself who's the better player now and who's the better player in the future and I think TD is the answer for both which I think negates the difference in contracts.

Not even Giles.... Still the same raptors. Move the team to the US. We're not sexy enough for anyone out there it's frustrating sometimes.

Raptors are all in the 2021 free agency. there is no doubt about it. this free agency is very telling on what to expect this year from the Raptors. low seed playoff team - anything better should be telling on how weak the East is lol

The real problem is these L.A. Teams and warm weather teams like miami play this game on easy mode while cold weather teams like us and Minnesota play on insane. That's not gonna change in our lifetimes
