Giannis Antetokounmpo Was In Regular Contact With Bogdan Bogdanovic For Months

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Nov 25, 2020 4:09 pm

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Thanasis Antetokounmpo stayed in regular contact with Bogdan Bogdanovic over the past few months, sources tell Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.

They spoke numbers times over the phone and during a few calls Giannis communicated his desire to become teammates with Bogdanovic.

"Giannis admired his fellow European's toughness and swagger, sources" tell Fischer.

There was tremendous confidence within the Bucks that Antetokounmpo would sign the supermax when it appeared the team would trade for Jrue Holiday and also acquire Bogdanovic.

"There has since been a categorical step back in that confidence, even if Antetokounmpo does ultimately accept the franchise's offer of a five-year, $228 million supermax extension," writes Fischer.

Real questions we need answers to are whether he prefers to add butter to his peanut butter toast or not. And if so, does he put the butter on the toast before or after the peanut butter?

Always before. I question whether or not you’re human.

If LeBron wanted Bogdanovic Bogdanovic he'd be there. You see how his GM role comes into play. Giannis Antetokounmpo didn't pry hard enough. Only way to get the best teammates you need to learn how to recruit. It's sad TBH. It's to late now. Hawks are just adding players for the fun of it. They need to trade just to give all there drafted players playing time. Giannis really should go to the Hawks. They have all the key pieces to grab him and have Trae Young, John Collins, OO, and so many other young players. Hawks just have to many players now and Giannis needs to wake up

Well that ship has sailed, Giannis. Now it's time to nut up and get to work with you got. Yes, ownership botched the deal for Bogy, but they had only the best intentions for you and the team. Now it's time to strike -- the iron is hot -- and the Bucks still have an easy path to one of the top two or three seeds in the east

Giannis cannot seriously believe that Bogdanovic would make that much of a difference. Very strange.

If Antetokounmpo walked after this, it will be the biggest heel turn since the decision. I don't think he will.

It's not Giannis fault that the Bucks didn't know how to keep their mouth shut.

I wonder if this was a rival exec getting intel and pushing this into the wind so the press would report and causing tampering discussions to happen prior to free agency opening. This is such a bad look for your impending MVP free agent. Reminds one of the worst moves that happened early in LBJ career by the cheap CLE management. They tried lowballing Carlos Boozer which lead to him being a free agent to sign with UTA. I am pretty sure Gund was still the owner at that present time. That set LBJ back years and the team never had a 2nd star. If it’s true they wouldn’t trade JJ Hickson for Amare that was awful as well. If they just had Boozer he would have been such a huge piece to that roster for those early years.

It’s a prime example IMO to GA that he should leave and find a team that’s best suited for him long term and that will always go above and beyond for his future. MIL will draw the line at some point when/if they cannot win the title. I don’t see them being a willing tax player just to win for GA and will have limits. I would hope they would do whatever is necessary to keep a player of this magnitude but I just doubt they would be a free spending team for the next 5-10 years

Seriously, adding Bogdanovic would have been great for MIL, but trading DiVicenzo would have reduce the overall impact of the trade, because it was one bench player less, and this exactly what MIL has to improve, their bench, more than their starting lineup
Bledsoe was a good defender, but not that great on the offensive side. At least Holiday will defend and bring more on offense, but other trade had to be for improving the bench, not another starter spot.
