This kid’s shot and defense are going to force him into the starting lineup, either at PG or SG, or he and Frank can share the PG duties.
I want to see this lineup:
Mitch....Noel
Obi.......Knox
RJ.........Bullock
Frank.....Burks
Quickly...DSJ
Randle,Payton,Rivers,MKG should only play in case of injury.
Excellent defensive backcourt, give RJ the keys to the offense. Let Quickly and Obi run a ton of pick and rolls.
Mitch does Mitch.
We won’t be as bad as most think.

I know you're trying to fill a lineup with the kids in mind but in terms of spacing it might make sense for Burke to replace Frank and just bring Frank in with the second unit with DSJ. Do your 2 PG lineup there.

Q: What is the most unfair criticism you’ve heard about you?

A: Probably that I’m a nice guy off the floor, so that probably means I’m a nice guy on the court.

Q: Why would that bother you?

A: ’Cause I feel like I’m a dog on the court (chuckle).

Q: Define what an “alpha” is.

A: An alpha is somebody who’s not gonna take any B.S. from nobody. And somebody who comes into work every single day, is a leader, you could count on him, and at the end of the day, they’re gonna get the job done.

Q: Are you an alpha?

A: Absolutely.

Q: Why is it important for a point guard to be an alpha?

A: ’Cause you gotta talk on the floor. You gotta be an extension of Coach Cal to be able to be successful.

Q: What do you think of fellow first-rounder and new teammate Obi Toppin?

A: From what I can tell he’s really competitive. He texted me and said, “Let’s turn this around,” like the day after the draft, so I can tell he’s really competitive and wants to win.

Q: RJ Barrett?

A: I had six Canadian players on my high school team, and then also I’m really close with [former Kentucky teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander], so I know him through him as well. Played against him on the USA-19 team, he had like 40 points or something like that. He’s a really good player, competitive and he was on my McDonald’s All-American team as well.

Q: Mitchell Robinson?

A: Really athletic, can catch lobs from anywhere, defend, can rebound, I’m sure there’s other parts to his game I don’t even know about that he’s probably really good at as well.

No homo. Im really feeling this dude. He got that mentality and he doesn't come across as all talk.

Coach Cal said Knox was a 3 year project and so far remains to be true. He said IQ is another Jamal Murray type. I'm willing to find out

I see why we reached on him in the first round

Yup. I mean, maybe the Knicks missed on a more talented guy after, but for combination of talent and attitude? I think they got the right one.

I already liked the kid and think he's going to do well. This interview certainly cements that feeling

Cementing a feeling? Really?

The only cement feeling for Wingo these days is that he wants good feelings after putting cement feet on Rose and dropping him in the Hudson.

you were probably thinking of it more like this:

"Jimmy Hoffa must be feeling very cemented right about now."

This is a FANTASTIC pick! Hes smart, good defender and can shoot. He might not be star but so what, too many times Knicks go for potential instead of looking at skill! This guy has the skill to be successful NBA player!

The kid's an absolute sniper. I remember watching him in January rooting for ku to lose. It's like he had a radar on that 3. I get that Terry was there but I rather have an elite shooter, the way we are structured than another mediocre pg at the pro level.

Type in the youtube search box "Immanuel Quickley Point Guard" and you'll understand why he really is a PG. He wasn't used as a PG in Kentucky because of their depth. He's going to end up being our starting PG one way or the other.

Thibs will like him too much. I expect him to crack rotation from early on.

He's going to get at least 20 minutes PPG.
Immanuel has no competition at PG. He's already a better shooter than Elfriid.
DSJ cannot defend, his body type is basic and his athleticism is only vertical. Horizontal movement, Smith gets beat and doesn't have the dog in him to win Thibs.

Quickley is straight the kind of player Thibs would lean on when Thibs was coaching those Chicago teams. A guy who doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective. Quickley is a PG but he's also very good OFF the ball and he showed that at Kentucky.

Any dude who is a floor general and can hit 40% from the 3pt is easily necessary in our rotation.

Quickley could have gone anywhere from 12-25 so he's definitely lottery talent.

He shot 90% FT and 40% 3pt with good defense. 1.9 turnovers per 40 minutes. Low turnover rate guy. Can average 5-6 apg IMO as a starter in his future. I believe he projects well and will have a long career.

He's probably our starting PG by the end of the season

If Frank's three is falling, they'd pair well

I noticed his off ball movement the most watching the video compilations. He appears to have a high hoops IQ and at least an above average level of court awareness
