Wow. I'm surprised that he retired. He's only 32.

wow, that's a surprise.

can he talk credibly about playing defense? I guess he must've put effort in on that side but I don't honestly remember.

he can talk about dribbling around for mid-range jumpers -- seems a bit anachronystic.

I give this a 50/50 chance that Turner gets signed to the active roster by the end of the season

Marcus Smart is the lone holdover from the last time Evan Turner was on the Celtics. ET has always loved Stevens and talks highly of him every chance he gets.

Very cool. I assume he'll be the "anything but shooting" coach?

This is perfect. IMO, players need a coach who's been through the same ups and downs that they're going through. They need a big brother. Evan Turner is a pretty cool guy, and even if he comes down hard on our guys, he's going to do it in a manner that isn't angry. It'll come across as funny, because that's the type of guy ET is. He wouldn't have gotten a job here if Brad didn't think he'd be useful.

One of the best interviews in the league. Welcome back ET.

Honestly when I saw the headline I thought he was going to be the 15th man with Semi or Green having already been shipped in an unannounced deal. Realistically he'll add the same value as an assistant coach, but surprised he's hanging it up early.

Hoping he can really be a good influence on the young guys in terms of how to be a pro (as long as he doesn't advocate for his trademark long 2's).

Good move. This team desperately needed a former player on the staff.
