It just feels gross that it ended like this. After all that rehab, all the waiting.

I remember how insanely pumped I was, going to J-Wall’s first game against the 76ers. And how he put on a GD show.

I remember on Draft Lotto day, for the first time in a long time, really thinking this team had turned the corner and we had an absolute franchise.

Just really sad right now. I like Russ. I think he’ll be exciting to watch next year. But I’ll miss John.

I wonder what the protections are on the 2023 1st rounder. What a shocking trade though after both sides denied it.

FIRE SHEPPARD AND SELL THE TEAM LEONSIS

Jesus **** christ. No. No.

I hate the way Westbrook plays. Wall was one of the reasons I kept watching Wizards when I "decided" that they're "my" team (:D). Sure he had his flaws and horrible contract but I was really excited to see his comeback. Oh man... **** this ****.

Edit: Okay, I've calmed down. This is not the end of the world by any means. Just feeling a bit sad and frustrated. Hopefully Westbrick fits well and Brooks improves as a coach...

Was really excited to see John back. It’s a shame but if the rumours are true and it was him or Beal I’m glad we picked Beal. Also maybe Wall hasn’t recovered as well as they have been advertising?

All I am is cynical. At first I was all for Wall being traded for Westbrook. Then I looked at Westbrook’s declining stats the past three seasons.

Now, I’m thinking Wall is healthy. Wizards might have blown it.

Regardless, this does not come as a shock.

If Chris Paul can bounce back why can’t Westbrook?
Bye bye Beal.

Good trade. Wall didn't want to be here. Beal reportedly engineered the trade but either way, they didn't play well together. It was time to shake things up. If we can get through this season, this is going to be fun.

Westbrook was never a favorite but I tired of Wall's antics before the injury though I kept hoping he'd mature. It should help the rebounding a little but not the defense or efficiency. It removes the uncertainty about Wall's recovery. The real key is whether Westbrook comes in and brings his energy and enthusiasm in a positive way to help make this a team that has fun playing with each other. IF so, I'm thrilled with the deal and it should make us clearly better.

My simple question, could the wizards not easily turn around and trade Russ for multiple picks later on?? why did Houston do that?

Wall is a better fit with Beal than Westbrook. I was looking forward to seeing a Wall-Beal backcourt again. But there are obviously off court issues that basically forced Tommy's hand.

Zards could do a lot worse than trading for Westbrook.

It seems Beal and Westbrook are pals so put 2 and 2 together and this is the result. Allegedly Houston wanted Bryant as part of the trade to start with, so a lottery protected 2023 pick is less costly..

Sentiment and nostalgia aside, I don't see how this is not a great deal for us. To only have to give up a protected 2023 1st to trade the worst contract in the league, from a player who hasn't played in 2 years is nothing but heady move by Tommy.

BTW, I'm not saying I love Westbrook. But this is a Ted move. If you go back to what Anthony Gill said about Shep is that the Wiz wanted character guys. That's who we're getting to surround Beal. Maybe that's why Otto is gone aside from the money and Wall. We'll probably end up in the same spot, seventh or eighth in the East at best because we didn't get longer or more athletic in the post, which is what Shep had said we needed.

so you're telling me we won't be able to trade Westbrook for a 15th overall pick???? Why did Houston just do that? They just took on the worst contract in the NBA, and Harden and Wall have no fit together whatsoever.

I'm at a loss for words, but it's a done deal now, so let's move on and root our new team on. Gonna be interesting to see Westie in a Wiz jersey. I'm gonna support the move until proven differently.
