At the moment I'd like to know from Tommy why this happened and why he just lied to us.

Are we in turn flipping Westbrook to NY for picks and assets?

10 years later the cycle repeats. We trade Gilbert Arenas, now we trade John Wall

traded the worst contract in the NBA for one of the best players in the NBA. All it costed was a non lottery future 1st.

I was about to go off on Sheppard, but at least the protection is decent. Nothing higher than top 8 so I can at least stomach the deal.

Trade went from bat shxt stupid to only mildly annoying.

We're a better team than yesterday I'm not going to lie, and in a better position cap wise. Westbrook is still a tradeable contract if he can rehab his value a bit this season.

This man's advanced stats/stats in the playoffs and regular season have been dropping off a cliff for years and is now 32. But I'm sure everybody will age like CP3! Oh gosh, this is such a bummer. Like maybe there is a reason he's not helping teams win more than CP3?? Maybe there's a reason why other stars keep leaving him? Did Tommy fall for the triple-double MVP meme that Morey fell for? Do the Wizards have any resemblance of an analytics department?

Sad to not see the ending chapter of John Wall in DC.

It’s absolutely true that if Wall really needed out, this is one of the best trades we could have made. Russ still has a lot left in the tank and the pick isn’t next years and it’s protected.

Beal and Westbrook have a friendship which will hopefully lead to on-court chemistry as well. As much as I’ll miss Wall, I’m pumped for our team next year.

If he’s one of the best players in the NBA(which is clearly a lie) then why does he keep getting moved?

Morey gave up 3 firsts and 2 pick swaps and CP3 for Westbrook. The price the Wizards gave up is less and maybe some other GM will trade for Westbrook.

Very similar legacies. Both had star numbers but no real postseason success. Both suffered catastrophic injuries. Both were traded despite enormous contracts. Other teams equally swapped unwanted players under big contracts.

The Wizards soured on both players. Neither guy is viewed as a good leader. Neither Wall nor Arenas will be celebrated the way Beal will as Wizard greats; regardless of their talent perhaps being superior.

Character...
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Knicks were not giving up assets to trade for Westy. Next summer, when Westy only has 2 years left, he can become a good tradable asset to some hungry team with cap space.

Not Yo Ham Lakers!

Congratulations I guess. Looks like Westbrook wanted to be back with Scotty Brooks.

Love this trade for you guys. Worst case, you get out of the contract a year earlier than Wall. By then, you'll know what the youth will offer you.

Gets to play again for a coach who will demand nothing out of him. Nice gig if you can get it.
