Assuming KP is healthy, somewhere around 5. LAL, LAC, Denver, and Utah are ahead of them.
With a 72 game season, I can see them winning somewhere around 45.

I see someone likes Mavs offseason. :D Imho people exaggerate lost of Curry. In how many regular season games was he decisive factor? I remember we lost few games because of he missing crucial FTs, against LA for example. Sure he had some good games, but Josh will have some very good games too and he will be better in D. every single game. KP being injured is more important, but we all remember how bad KP looked his first 2 months last year. On the other hand Mavs are for sure much better in D. We were talking a lot about losing many games in the clutch. But losing those games was not only because we couldn’t score, but because we couldn’t defend anything. So better D. will for sure help in clutch too. I believe the most crucial will be Luka’s conditioning. 15 games/month is very demanding. I’m not very optimistic there.

I believe 5-7 is very realistic expectation, if Luka somehow survives the season without too many problems.

3. Memphis, Thunder, Kings, San Antonio, Houston, Warriors, Minnesota, Pelicans.

Not the top seed but I expect better record than last season because of shortened season and depth. Actually, LAC, DEN, HOU are significanty weakened compared to last season. I don't know about POR, UTA, GSW or PHO, though. But the Mavs have to take care of business. I expect somewhere between 4-5 eventually. I expect Kawhi to sit a lot to prevent injuries for upcoming contract year. Denver cannot compensate the loss of Grant. Wiseman takes time to develop. These teams might not end up very good record wise. I expect Houston to be out of playoff picture due to chemistry issue. Pheonix is thin on depth. I think betting on health of CP and Crowder could be problematic. That being said, POR and UTA are main competitors for better record. LAC and DEN could be pretty closed to Mavs record, though. I can't see the Mavs gets the top seed unless LAL sits LBJ and AD a lot.

It’s incredibly hard to say. If Porzingis has any setbacks or if Luka gets injured (they’re in the bottom quarter of worst teams in the NBA if he doesn’t play, in my opinion) then they’re not a playoff team. Best case scenario is probably a five seed.

There are a lot of questions regarding this season that I have no answers for:

How will Dwight Powell look upon his return?

Can Porzingis stay healthy?

Which rookie, if any of them, will step up?

The big moves this off-season was to surround Luka with three and D players. What I am looking for is consistency when it comes to shooting. I have no doubt that players like Richardson and Johnson can defend but if these guys can’t hit wide open shots then it’s going to be a long, long season.

1. 6th
2. Lakers/Clips/Nugs/Suns/GSW
3. The rest
4. 39-33

1. Lakers
2. Clippers
3. Nuggets
4. Suns
5. GSW
6. Dallas
7. Utah
8. Portland
9. Memphis
10. Houston
11. New Orleans
12. Sac
13. Minnesota
14. OKC
15. SA

I think Suns are the most improved team.
Dallas would be 3rd if KP was available the entire season.

1. I expect they will finish somewhere between the 4-6 seed.

2. Lakers, Nuggets, Clippers, then possibly Jazz.

3. The other 3 seeds I think will go to Suns, Grizzlies, and Blazers. Not necessarily in that order.

4. Yes, I expect they will win 50-55 games. They will close out many of the games they blew last season.

I don't see many scenarios where they can be a higher seed, which is why I'm surprised Luka is favourite to win MVP. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me when I factor in wins.

Does anyone really think they'll be ahead of the Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets?

The Suns, Jazz, Blazers, all seem to have a better roster, especially if KP misses a lot of games.

The Rockets could be be ahead IF Harden stays and Wall is 90% of the player he was (he seems to be so far).Wall is a better fit with Harden.

I think a lot of people are overrating the Warriors, because I'm not sure Green is the same player that he was. So who's the second best player on that team? Oubre? Still, who knows with them?

Pelicans are a team with a lot of upside. I think there's a scenario where the Mavs fight for the 8th seed with them.

I'm thinking 6-8 seed is a good range, depending on what's going on with the Rockets and Warriors.

Then again, if Richardson progresses as a player, Luka becomes a better shooter, KP doesn't miss many games, the team clicks... the Mavs could take the 4th seed, but that's a lot of "ifs"

1) 1st
2) noone
3) everyone
4) yes

While i think that LAL is the best team i do not think that they will go hard enough in the RS. They ll cruise to 2nd or 3rd seed and be perfectly fine with it.

I think Doncic will avg something around 31/10/10 and the team will destroy everyone.
Funny that we will have a much clearer picture after the first 5 games in which they play PHX LAL LAC and MIA...

1. 5th seed
2. LAL, LAC, DEN, Utah
3. Other 3 seeds will go to HOU, POR, GSW with PHX, NEP, and MEM making them all work for it. I think SAS, SAC, MIN, and OKC are in a tier below the rest.
4. Yes

They should finish somewhere between 4-6 in seeding.

Last year, this team was a fake 7th seed due to the injuries. This year, the team doesn't look better than last year's. The defense is better but the spacing won't be there on offense due to the inconsistency of the three point shooters. THJ is the best three point shooter, but when he is cold he will shoot you out of the game. Everyone else isn't good enough to keep their man from sagging off. I can't see 4-6.

You basing that off of 1 preseason game?
