Re: Free Agency, Rumors, Thoughts in General 2.0
In the odd follow up to the Barea news, Mavs signed Courtney Lee to a camp deal---I guess as a favor so he can show teams he's healthy after ending last year hurt?
Give Cuban this much--he takes care of his guys in little ways where he can.

I am sure the Minnesota Timberwolves are on this list, and Shams just ran out of characters.

I mean, if Harden is willing to go to MIL and play with Giannis that at least shows some sort of newfound maturity IMO. Putting winning over his silly side beef with Freak is a good development.

I generally believe all that beef between most players is massively overstated, harden and Giannis being no exception. People just get caught up in the few moments we see them interact when we actually don't know these people at allBlazersBroncos wrote:I mean, if Harden is willing to go to MIL and play with Giannis that at least shows some sort of newfound maturity IMO. Except it's only cap circumvention IF the Lakers were proven to be involved. If LeBron and AD made that deal on their own, there's no cap circumvention. Just like you can't have players colluding to team up together. The NBAPA would have a field day if the NBA tried to step in on that.

Nobody loves JJ more than me obviously, but this was so transparent from the moment they signed him. It was just a way to give him a nice bonus with a gtd contract.
Part of me would love to see a guy who loves to play this much get one more shot somewhere, but another part of me really wants him to stick around and be on the staff immediately.
If he doesn't get another job, the Mavs might need him back if they run into injuries or Covid trouble (assuming he's eligible to come back to the Mavs this year).

Re: Free Agency, Rumors, Thoughts in General 2.0
Harden + Gordon traded for Middleton + Jrue
Does this trade make sense for both teams?
I think it sharpens both lineups:
Harden, DDV, Gordon, Giannis, BroLo
Wall, Jrue, Middleton, Tucker, Wood

Okay if AD signed for the Lakers, and LeBron used his leverage as a producer for Space Jam 2 to pay him through the movie as an incentive to join the Lakers, is that allowed? It's not, the CBA isn't just about teams, it's about everyone.

That's tough. I don't think I'd be willing to include Jrue if I were the Bucks. Middleton, DDV, other salary and the very few picks they have left is about as high as I think you could go. You just wouldn't have enough of a team left to truly compete.

Sure looks like Harden is trying to get himself out of the West. How about sending him to Washington for Brad Beal, because, you know...

I think they'd have a strong team still but it could be evened out a little by trading Wilson for House
Jrue+Middleton+Wilson for Harden+Gordon+House, which would free up $2m for Bucks to use for buyouts.
PG: DDV | Augustin
SG: Harden | Forbes
SF: Gordon | Connaughton
PF: Giannis | House
C : BroLo | Portis
That team as it stands would come out the East

I don’t know man. I’m not convinced that team is better than Brooklyn, Miami, Philly, or Boston. Maybe next season when the team has some continuity and experience together, but I just don’t the feeling that this team is the Eastern favorite. I’d still probably do the trade though.

Can Heat pull off Harden cap wise without Butler or Bam?

Maybe. It absolutely tanks their defence though.

Let's assume Harden is #1... who are the best 3 players traded between now and the deadline?
1. James Harden
2.

In all seriousness man, you ask this question like every three days. The answer doesn't change that frequently.

I don't think it tanks their starting defense, none of their starters are poor defenders. Forbes is the terrible defender, he could be unplayable.

I feel like different people catch it and pretty much every time new people participate with unique and interesting ideas that haven't already been discussed over and over here, but if it bothers you, you're the mod and I'll stop.

Going from Holiday/Middleton to Harden/Gordon is a significant downgrade defensively.
