Gtj going for that Allen Crabbe money... Seriously, if he plays like this all year, at what point do we move cj? We can't let him go for nothing in typical olshey 2nd round pick fashion. Or do we, gulp, package then together for harden?...

That should be enough money to sign Steve Blake.

I see that Memphis waived Mario Hezonja so he is available. :D

Collins can go in that package too. I like giles more in one preseason game than I have Collins since we drafted him (which I was firmly against btw). Imagine we drafted mitchell and got something for Cj... No, actually, that's too painful.

Really liked Giles tonight. When will Nurkic and Hood play?

Looked really good out there overall. Lots of players didn't dissapoint. Really liked a lot of what I saw from Giles, but I don't want to get carried away. Unlike some others here, I actually think him and Collins seem like a perfect match to play alongside each other for extended minutes.

I'd love to keep Giles if he plays somewhat like this (not necessarily statistically) and bring back Collins as mobile, switchable bigs with good instincts.

I don't think we should overreact at this point though.

I liked what I saw from Trent jr and Giles. DJJ looked great at times, and other times he dribbled like Aminu.

I saw that too. But the positive is that if DJJ can basically be Aminu on defense and shooting, with the added dimension of alley oops, that's a massive win. Imagine Aminu as not being your primary best switchable defender, but rather the 2nd guy. That would be awesome for this team. If we just completely inserted Aminu from his time in Portland instead of DJJ onto this team we'd be pretty happy.

Let's wait to see if Giles can stay healthy for going back to his HS days when he was at one time considered the
best HS player in the country, nobody ever doubted his talent but he's never been able to stay healthy. The
kings who know him well, felt his injury risk was too great to pick up his option.

Just watching him on the court he has the tools to be an incredible NBA player, you can clearly see this in what he was showing tonight on both ends.

Not necessarily... when he was clearly healthy most of last season they just gave him DNPs all season knowing they wouldn’t be resigning him and it was pretty evident he was motivated as hell to dominate last night. I didn’t like the Giles pick up at first but I definitely see the light now. And the Kings are a prime example of wasting away draft picks and not keeping past rookie deals. I think there’s a strong chance we got a diamond. If we can balance his and Zachs minutes so he’s getting even a little load management, it’s definitely worth the risk.

I said a week or so ago Giles is the guy to watch, no disappointment in first game, IF he can stay healthy he will be IMO easily be the best "dollar for dollar" acquisition by Portland this offseason
