Tbf, they’re missing Kemba and lost Hayward for nothing. Tatum and Brown took another leap last season and the question is now will their assumed improvements during the offseason overcome the added attention they will garner since defenses don’t need to account for Kemba (for now) and Gordon.

If most of the playoff teams in the East stay relatively healthy and the Celtics reach the ECF again, they should consider that a good season considering the losses they’ve endured.

This Nets lineup to close out the half is very hard to defend against.

Yeah, he looks better than he did in the first preseason game.

KD said he wants to get back to elite levels by the end of the season and into the playoffs. I think he knows he’s basically fine physically, but needs actual game time to get his rhythm, conditioning, and full blown confidence in his body back.

Solid first half. I think this team has barely unlocked 2% of their overall potential. KD, Kyrie, and Harris in the starting line up is a tough call for opposing defenses.

The bench depth is elite. LeVert looked crisp running the 2nd unit.

I love the switching and communication on defense. We had some lapses but overall I liked what I saw on that end.

Kyrie-Dinwiddie-Harris-Durant-Green IIRC...and if you replace Dinwiddie with Levert...that’s 5 good to great shooters that can all make a play with the ball in their hands.

We’re definitely stacked offensively. Defensively, we brought it in the first half, but that will definitely be our Achilles heel this year.

What a half. Lineup looked great with Jeff Green at C.

Tatum + Brown are good tests for the type of big wings we might face. It's scary seeing KD put so much effort on D but we held our own. Sloppy start but we got it together. Team is playing hard defensively.

Offense looked killer against a team with really strong defenders.

The time for a trade to happen was before preseason. Now that games are underway, it sounds like the players are really focused on becoming the best version of themselves and the best unit possible.

The further we get into the season, the less ideal it becomes to do a trade since the players would have to learn new patterns and become acclimated to new hierarchies in the offense. The more time we have to become a well-oiled machine, the better.

We’ve got the talent to win now. The players just need to go out and actualize it over the course of the season.
