Obviously there are more things involved, but player for player we are better even with Saric out tonight.
A healthy Porzingis makes the Mavs a really tough team, he creates a lot of space and you can not defend him with small players because he is a lob threat every single time.
Mikal Bridges is one of the better players around the league to put in front of Doncic.
He is not gonna stop him by any means, but he can limit him a bit as a first defender, and we will switch a lot trying to disrupt their pick&roll.
Yeah, they really only beat us in one player, and in some ways that depends on who you say Doncic is like. I would put him against Book and he wins there. If you put him against Paul, it is different, because Paul is as good as a floor general, and is a very efficient scorer and defender so for a vet leader, I put paul ahead.
I am not sure who else they start, but I think we win at any other position battle for starters. With depth they will win the backup big and maybe all spots except our 3/4 rotation backup. I think Crowder starts but not sure, but either way, Cam or Crowder at backup 3/4 is better than anyone off the bench for them. Kleber is a great bench player, but he is more of a 4/5.
So at big 4/5 they win and probably at 1. At 2/3 backup we likely win.
It likely comes down to Doncic's game but if we can hound him with Bridges along with some Paul, Crowder and Ayton and some double teams, it could face him into tough situations. We suddenly are pretty tough on D with the starters if Crowder starts outside of Booker.
