So Capologists...now that Isaac and Fultz are locked up, what are our possible directions?
-AG looks great and I think he could be great, but I'd still investigate moving him ASAP for prospects. I don't think we should necessarily make a trade that guarantees we suck, but I wouldn't be afraid of a trade that could make us take a step back OR a big step forward. Obviously, the big picture is the return of Isaac
-Ditto Evan...even if our young lead guards drive Evan into the position we need (elite shooter), I just don't know that we can pay him next year and I hate to lose a very good player for nothing. Maybe I'm overstating his financial impact - I'm assuming he will not be amenable to taking a big pay cut for a more limited, but crucial offensive role. Perhaps, I should be looking at who else to dump to clear more $$$ room instead of our best shooter.
-No reason to do anything with Bamba until we see how he does. Still a very valuable skill set if things go as they should.
-I really like TRoss and would only include him grudgingly in a package for a star
-I think Aminu could be useful when healthy, particularly if we trade AG...otherwise, salary filler. I'd rather see Okeke struggle and learn than have Aminu place-hold.
-I'm more comfortable with Vuc than ever, I just want someone better than him to play with him. Trading him for anyone could lead to an at least temporary collapse of our offense. Maybe by the end of the year, Bamba changes that perception for me.
What will our cap situation look like with our new contracts? What financial realities face us (particularly with Evan a UFA)? I don't think we are a FA destination but cap space is always good for trades....what's next?
