Blowout loss. I have no faith in this team with Powell starting and Luka being fat.

Miami is the most consistent team in NBA in one thing and that thing is Effort, while our coach is telling us we are missing that. Something that is not dependant on skill, not dependant on hot streak, luck whatever...

Something is wrong with this team and they will go 1-4 or I'll be absolutely shocked. If the likes of Hornets and the Lakers outmuscle Dallas and have shown more effort Miami is going to annihilate them.
Spoelstra is not stupid. He sees flaws in Dallas's game

1) Luka is not moving well (out of shape) he is going to make sure someone makes sure someone gets the ball out of his hands quickly in each possession or that Luka shoots terrible - shots that Miami will live with

2) They see Dallas is struggling with playmaking if you take Luka out of the equation, which results in rushed possessions, shots, and bad scoring opportunities even T/Os

3. every time Powell plays, they know that Powell is going to play the lobbing threat and p&roll option and if you take that away from him, that Dallas is playing with 4 guys basically.
On Offense, they know he is a liability outside or even worse so inside.

4) He can also see that currently, Luka is in no shape or form capable of any high defensive performance, so they will in addition be targeting his coverage, making sure he gets mismatches on switches, not just for 1vs1 but even small things as Luka not closing well, getting closed out for jumps and getting stuck behind the screens.

5) They will also make sure to take advantage of Dallas's terrible execution of switches on Defense which leads to total confusion and mismatches when it comes to rebounds.
One of the main reasons next to the effort why Dallas was/is so bad in rebounds is actually that they are lost, late, beaten on defense when doing the automatic switches.
Even Cato noticed it in the Maxi post-game conference which was actually quite funny.
If Tim Cato notices that you think Spoelstra will not?

I really could go on in more of the technical problems Dallas is experiencing on defense, offense, coaching decisions etc but maybe I find the energy to tackle those after a few more losses. I will just say and put it like this.

Dallas has a lot bigger issues than just coming out of a slump or getting Porzingis back, do not, I repeat do not expect them to go away on their own and quickly. And I am afraid that even if they are addressed (which is one of my fear that they are not being addressed ), even if they are, these are not quick things you can fix overnight.

Every single time I am reading my posts, especially if I can't be bothered to articulate them well and spellcheck them it seems to be as this is some random rant some negative guy is spewing. I really do not intend to come out so negative as I often do.
Just from a technical and professional view some things totally bother me.

So sorry guys if it comes out pathetic

Mark Followill: Maxi Kleber upgraded to probable for tonight’s home game vs Miami (had been questionable w/ a left ankle sprain). Miami’s Jimmy Butler (probable) after missing last 2 – right ankle sprain.

Wondering if ya'll still hate us? Would be cool if we could all just move on and be friendly. Bad blood was a long time ago.

Until Luka throws a shoe at Rick's head and tells him that he demands a trade if Powell plays more than 10 mins again. And that's the sad part, Powell wouldn't even be in a 10 man rotation on a team like Lakers :banghead:

But hey, i might as well jinxed it and Powell has 20/10 tonight

Yeah... Luka had an open layup and passed it with no time left. That was so fumb, he must have known there were 5 sec left. Not really enough to go across the court and make a pass.

What was he thinking? It's not the first time he does it.

It's funny when the commentator is talking about Doncic and saying : "... a shooter of that quality." What?

Do we have to accept the idea that he's maybe just a bad shooter? But with a good shooting motion.

The struggle from the line are showing up again and he shooting under 10% from 3.

It's so hard to be hopeful and think that it is just a matter of time...

EDIT : YES!!!! A 3!!!! Pure joy!!!

EDIT 2 : But still 1/4... :)

Finally Luka goes for a layup and gets punished by the ref

Anyway, i have no clue how Mavs are up because they sure did not play that well. Defense was ok-ish i guess.. but Miami is missing basically everything, even open shots.

How many wide open 3s does Powell pass up every game?

Such a waste of offense. He will usually pump fake from 3 even though no one is close to him and then drive toward the defender, going nowhere... Can someone tell me that it's not how a pump fake works?

Miami having a tough game. But Mavs are doing a few good things. Defense does seem a little better.
