Bogey and Mitchell have been a total embarrassment this season. This better just be a slump because it is totally unacceptable. It is hard to feel good about the fact that we just paid out max extensions for 2 players that simply aren't max players.

This season it feels like we're fighting against Bogey and Mitchell dragging the rest of the team down. Bogey is missing shots. He just needs to make them. Mitchell OTOH has had some horrific decision making. No improvements made in that area for 3+ seasons now.

It feels like this game shouldn't have been so close... Defense was generally very good but offensively it was a real struggle at times.

Good thing is, I don't believe Bogdanovic and Mitchell can keep playing this bad for too long. I get that Quin wants Bogey not to lose confidence but this is getting pretty hard to watch. Problem is, when he's hitting 3's at his usual rate he then has more space for the rest of his game to open up, but it doesn't work the other way around. One would hope that he can hit some close-distance shots to get his confidence going but it's hard for him to create shots for himself and finish around the basket, so you see him just bumping into the interior defense and airballing from 10 feet out and you wonder if that's not even worse than not doing anything but keep shooting 3's until something clicks. Considering his track record it feels like it has to sooner rather than later, UNLESS it's not just mental and he has some lingering issue with his wrist which would be way more troubling...
About Donovan, it seemed he went into the game wanting to make a point of creating for his teammates but he went about it in the wrong way, constantly going for the homerun pass. That one-handed, across-the-court throw looks nice when it works but it's not the answer, or at least it's not when you go for it 3 times out of 4. Just keep it simple man.

Aside from Conley's stellar performance, Ingles and Favors were very impressive off the bench. I liked Derrick being more aggressive with his offense, while Ingles had his best all-around game in the season and generally looks like he's bought in to coming off the bench. Royce did a very good job defensively and played hard as usual.

I often feel like I'm less negative on Quin than most here, however the way he handled Gobert and Favors getting into foul trouble in the first half really irked me and that's not the first time this season. If you don't trust Azubuike yet you can give a shot to Morgan or experiment with a super small-ball lineup, but you can't have them both at 3 fouls at the half. It may be a simplistic view, but I feel that Rudy's 4th foul damn near cost us the game - when he came back at the start of the fourth quarter he suddenly stopped contesting shots and going for rebounds in a crowd, Clippers got a bunch of easy buckets and got in a groove, making it a close game. You start that fourth quarter differently, it could have been a blowout win.

11/22/20: I'm just realizing that Favors is a better fit to play off of Mike Conley than Rudy is. Bringing Favors back should help Mike play more of the same role he did in Memphis.

I loved the fact that Conley had 7 assists to go along with his efficient 33 points, including two assists each to Favors and Gobert. One of the assists to Favors was for a 12 foot jumper reminiscent of Conley and Gasol.

This could end up being Conley's best performance of the season, but regardless, it came at a great time when we really needed his outstanding performance to avoid a losing win percentage and to establish that we are capable of beating the Clips. Go Jazz!

Beating the Clippers when Donovan and Bogey have been playing poorly is impressive.

Nine times out of ten when Bogey puts the ball on the floor bad things happen. Yet, it seems as if we were running plays for him to do it over and over again last night. I don't think he is completely healed from his wrist surgery and I worry he won’t be the same player this year.

Conley played great, but he and Mitchell together make a shrimp backcourt. However, Mitchell disrupts the flow and tempo of the offense and is a turnover machine with the ball in his hands so we might need to keep him. I do have my eye on Porter, though, as a potential trade piece for Conley.

You might want to rethink who your trading. Mitchell looks like the player needing traded.
