I honestly don't think we will ever be able to win anything if Booker is going to want to do it all. Hopefully he will learn to trust others in big moments, but I think he just wants to be Kobe too much. Yes, it will work sometimes, but not enough times to advance through a bunch of series, or even win a series.
I am very glad we have Chris Paul, because I think we can win a playoff series with him...though of course it will be tough to do so if we don't have a top 4 seed....especially if crowds come back by the end of the season.
Really thought that it would be acceptable (ISO Book) if Booker has a smaller offensive load to shoulder and getting more rest throughout the rest of the game. I actually thought he'd look like the best ISO Book could look. But he's just looked really off
But what's the purpose when you have a big drawing attention in the middle and a bunch of 3 pt shooters, especially when you are up double digits?
Buffer space to "work" on his game

Book will be fine its going to take some time to adjust, he literally had to be Kobe like for 4 years because he had no help so its going to take more than 5 games to break some of those habits and instincts. Im guessing at least 30 to 35 games before he really gets comfortable

Our bench deserves a ton of credit. The box score looks funny with all our starters minus and all our bench positive. Carter was 0-1 in 15 minutes and +12. Galloway -- I had no idea what we were getting in him. Wow.

And if the Suns keeping winning at an 80% rate over that time period... ... ...

Game was called differently after jokic 5th foul. Allowed the nuggs to play physical defense and booker made horrendous decisions.
I cringed hard when he waved off cp3 to hero ball down the stretch.
Great game by ayton. Let's hope this is the breakout game.

does Ayton have average hop or not? He is supposed to be athletic but i just don't see much different athletically between him and Jokic who was supposed to be an average athlete. reminds me of Boris whose athleticism was supposedly at shawn marion's level but didn't look like it at all.

He should, especially if he watches film, but it's very tough to change a guy's tendencies, especially if he sees himself as the guy to iso and do it all. If he adapted his playstyle to be kind of like Jamal Murray, he'd be great.
It is weird he seemed to adapt immediately to Rubio, but not with Paul. I know Rubio didn't want to take over, but neither does Paul, really, unless he has to.
If he watches film, it seems like he would say to himself, "I gotta cut this **** out", but there is simply zero reason to start going iso and launching long pull up 3s and sometimes not moving the ball when you are up double digits in the 4th. That should be common basketball sense.

We started to play hero ball at the last 5 min of the game. It was too early for that. We could play our normal game and it wouldn't even be this close imo.

I'm not sure I've ever seen Diaw's supposed elite athleticism whereas I have seen Ayton's
Ayton's athleticism is a little like Booker's 3pt shooting. Beautiful shooting form but just can't seem to hit 3 with consistency. Every now and then he will have a game where he'll hit 4-5 3's and we think, ahh now why can't he do this more consistently when we know he's got this pictureesque shooting stroke and has the 3PT competition hardware to show for it.

Yeah, but a lot of that is when Jokic and Murray sit. The bench was also much better when they played with Paul and sometimes Bridges...you can see how their +/- is better than the other starters. But Ayton would always sit when Jokic did (or most of the time), so it's not really indicative of who is playing better necessarily when Jokic and Murray are sitting.
But, they did outscore who they played. Often the bench has a crazy +/- because Galloway comes in and hits 3 quick 3s or he hits a couple and Carter hits a couple (or CamJo)...it makes everyone out there look good via the +/-

Such a difference-maker to have two guys out there was can great their own down the stretch. Paul hitting clutch shots today, Booker has a long history of being cold blooded for us down the stretch.
Utah has traditionally been even a tougher place to win. Both wins were big.

Suns have the best record in the league and just beat the western conference finalist on a back to back game on their home court (traditionally one of the toughest places in the league to grab a win).
This board: complaining about how we did a bad job closing out the game down the stretch.
Man, how expectations have chanced when compared to last season.

Well, that starting 5's +/- went down quickly when the starters all came in down the stretch. I wouldn't blame everyone.

I get the feeling that not having as much offensive expectations while focusing on the one thing he wasn't good at coming into the league and actually excelling at it now is kind of a relief for him.
