The Terps' class is especially strong on the defensive side, with three of the nation's top 22 defensive tackles in Taisze Johnson (St. John's/D.C.), Tommy Akingbesote (C.H. Flowers/Springdale, Md.) and Andre Porter. Mike Locksley also will sign Quince Orchard (Md.) star Demeioun Robinson, the No. 2 weakside defensive end and No. 22 overall player in the country according to 247Sports' rankings.

I didn't think the mens hoops Terps were in any danger of losing anyone to the 2021 draft, but Donta Scott is earning some mention. A very strongly built 6'7 225 - looks a lot like Michael Bridges. He won't keep this up, but he's made 57% of his 3's this season. Good physical player at both ends - won various defensive POY awards in HS. Terps have another sophomore from Philly that's surprising them - Hakim Hart - a 6'5 long-armed swingman. Has an awkward looking set shot, but he's making it. He looked awful as a freshman, but got stronger in the offseason and now has some confidence. Scott could come out for the 2021 draft, but Hart's too inconsistent at this point in his development.

They won!?!? I missed the game. That is why they did, I guess. I know what to do Thursday night—don’t watch!

:)

Fear the Turtle!

Bye bye Beal.

Terrence Lewis commits to Maryland

https://247sports.com/User/JeffErmann/

Terrence Lewis is heading to Maryland.

Lewis, a five-star linebacker from Miami Central High (Fla.), announced Saturday afternoon that he'd picked the Terps over finalists Miami and Tennessee. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound senior, rated the No. 1 inside linebacker and No. 16 overall player in the Class of 2021, is a major recruiting win for a Maryland program beginning to stockpile high-level talent. He had a long list of major scholarship offers, including Alabama, Florida, Clemson and dozens of others.

...

"They're up and coming right now. I think they got a couple good recruits. All they need is a little bit more to be one of the top teams in their conference. Hopefully we can wing a rin before I leave," he said in the interview.

...
“Just [looking for] a coach that I got a good relationship with. Somewhere I feel comfortable. I think the biggest part for me, is me playing early because I’m trying to get out in three years. That’s the goal," Lewis told 247Sports in early December.
Bye bye Beal.

There was actually a dent in Morsell's face after Mo Wagner's brother Franz went up and tried to block his shot. https://www.newsbreak.com/news/2136881961411/turgeon-updates-morsells-status-after-scary-facial-injury

Btw, Franz is a legit NBA wing prospect - good all-around player.

He seems like a good big in the Isaiah Stewart mold - a short center. Terps are very good defending perimeter players but not bigs. Wiggins finally had a big game, but MD wasted it. Ayala just hasn't developed his point guard skills at all. Maybe it's time to go with one of the freshmen at PG - Smart or Dockery.
