Great game by THJ. When he sticks to the things he does well, he is a great asset to the team.

THJ is perfect as a catch and shoot guy. He just has to know his role and not over do it. Once in a while, the Mavs can give him the ball and let him create for himself, but it can't happen too often.

Best performance this season. Can argue the Clippers game, but that was a blowout early in the first half. This game we actually had to fight and fought to regain or extend the lead a couple of times.

I don't hate him as much as some others do here. I think if he doesn't actively handle the ball he's a fantastic asset to the team, as soon as he tries to do too much and/or his shot isn't falling he is a huge liabiliy. Tonight he killed it, let's hope he can keep it up.

Can someone explain to me why Gordon had a free throw on the play that was challenged with 1 minute left?

I didn't see the replay, but it looked like the same thing that happened to Luka. Yet, the foul on Luka was called on the floor. WAs it different?

I know it doesn't matter, but I'm just curious.

Also shoutout to WCS who was more productive alone than Maxi and Powell combined.

A career game for THJ, couldn't miss and even had some great drives.

Completely agree with that. Defense was actually good tonight. Offense was working. Not a perfect game but very good.

Heroic THJ effort. Luka with a monster triple double.

And WCS with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block. Quality work in 24 minutes.

Who knew WCS is better as a starter than Powell? I'm glad the Mavs coaches could figure this out so fast. It must have been a stroke of genius... ;)

I said after last game that THJ would probably be better off the bench to provide the much needed spark and let Luka play with Maxi and Jrich in the starting lineup. The extra defense clearly bothered Rockets in the 1st Q and Mavs were fighting hard all game. Can't wait until KP gets back then we will really see the full potential from the Mavs.

Hehe. Didn't Carlisle say before the season he would rotate the starting lineup in the beginning of the season based on the opponent? Might see Powell back next game

Hope not.

If that was the plan, why was Powell starting against any great offensive big? Matching him against AD made no sense.

It's a damn shame.
He showed some value in the bubble and now nothing. Possible issues with coaches or etc?

Send THJ to the bench and he wakes up. It doesn't hurt that Houston doesn't play defense.

We have options with Hinton and Green though

I fear Powell and Boban are close to unplayable

You think RC is finally going to give the rookies a chance? It will only get worst when KP is coming back too. I hate when first round picks don't get any chance to show what they can do.

Well, Rick slowly reduced Powell's role (didn't finish games lately and now not starting) and minutes. Same will happen with Trey if he doesn't pick it up. They will get their shot.

We are going to have to choose between thj and Richardson, id much rather keep timmy as i think he's a better fit and could resign in 13m range, if we can use Richardson to get off Powell I'd do it, especially if we can land opj in the move

Anytime we beat Houston makes me happier.
Two days off and we play Denver on the road.

Richardson is likely trade bait. Him, DFS, and Brunson could get a decent return I’d imagine
