I’m good with either obviously but I think Kuminga has a higher ceiling and being a foreign player would help us keep him throughout his career. Cade could always suddenly decide he wants to move back home to Texas like Kawhi did with LA
I wouldn't say higher ceiling per say but maybe more untapped potential...
Cade imo looks to have extremely high bball IQ and plays at his own pace much like Luka, Tatum, Kawhi etc. He may not be quite at the seemingly savant like level of Luka but he does appear to be at an extremely high level that is incredibly well rounded n again plays at his own pace like a Tatum but a better passer. On the flipside a better defender than Luka n more comparable to Tatum on that end. Really for the next generation of NBA stars I think he has the potential to be somewhere between those 2 but ahead of Tatum...
Kuminga is bit of an unknown imo in terms of ceiling because he's not as polished yet but obviously with his physical gifts has as I said more untapped potential because there's a lot more development for him. I seen you compare him to Kawhi but I certainly don't see the level of defender Kawhi was earlier in his career and there's a VERY long road to the level of refinement Kawhi added to his game that it's hard to make that assumption it will happen. Right now I don't see a perfect comparison but I will say I'm with you in terms of having the potential to be one of the best forwards in the game long term. I just think guys like LeBron, Luka and Cade (to a lesser extent) have a greater overall effect on their team's success than a great scoring wing a la Kawhi...
All that said I'd still be beyond happy af if we got Kuminga lol
As for later part about leaving, won't debate that especially with all the African roots in this franchise with Masai at the head of the spear with OG and Pascal n even Mutumbo on staff, its a natural cultural fit that's hard to not a see a deep bond being made....still though I'm taking Cade because again I think he impacts a team's success more and imo more likely to help lead to ANOTHER (just feels good to say lol) chip and I would trust Masai n Co to build the roster around him over the 7 years to accomplish it unlike the other franchises that tend to lose their franchise rooks (VC actually begged to stay at the end and Kawhi was an obvious rental, not the same as raising a kid in the city and culture, ask DeMar).
