I might have to apologize to Eric Paschall. He may have found a role for the team.

I like that Paschall seems to be able to make the opposing coach question his reserve lineup almost every game.

I give Kerr the credit for finding the right role for Paschall.

I give Chriss and his injury all the credit in the world for Eric landing in the role he’s in now. Not that I’m happy Chriss is injured, but let’s be honest....that injury took away the impediment for Paschall to fully beast.

The props I give to Kerr are for telling Eric it’s ok to go get his. Props to Eric for getting his, but also for finding guys as well. He just seems to make the right play most of the time, and his age and experience is where that comes from.

I'm most happy that Paschall's role is being developed as a Warrior. Tired of guys that never seem to fulfill their potential here, go elsewhere, and that new team finds the right role for him and he flourishes.

Are you talking about Webber? Arenas?
I just thought we drafted bad players

Not sure who’s he referring to, but Chris Boucher has been playing very well for the Raptors this year, and Kendrick Nunn for the Heat last year. Nunn hasn’t built on last season, so maybe we’re not missing much. It would have been nice if we had given Boucher more of a chance. Could be a solid role player on a contender.

Raptors fans are pushing for him to start over Baynes fwiw. A little bit older (27), but could be another good find like FVV.

My explanation is being stubborn as a box of rocks.

At least Carmelo has finally accepted his short comings. I give him credit for that. Still hasn’t won anything though.

Paschall had the benefit of playing college ball for Jay Wright. Both Steve Kerr and Jay Wright have a mutual love fest for each other and they preach playing team ball over individual ball.

But Kerr is modifying that stance to allow Eric to be a bit selfish on that bench out of need. And in turn Wric tends to make the right plays. He doesn’t force everything all the time, he is more than willing to hit an open cutter, or a wide open Lee or Mulder if that’s the right play.

I had huge futures bet on Miami last year ..Watched a lot of games....Not once did I think we should have retained Nunn

Nunn was a numbers issue if I was correct. Didnt we have too many Guards?

The ones I was thinking of were Parish (traded him because we drafted our "franchise" center in Joe Barely Cares) who became a Hall of Famer in Boston, Williams (we used him as a back-up; I thought it was crazy that we gave Dudley roughly the same minutes!) who became a starter and 2-time All Star in Seattle, and Wilkes (tried making him a PF despite having the physique of a dipstick) and of course became a Hall of Famer with the Lakers who correctly put him back as a SF.

Yeah Kerr really has the clamps on his minutes.

He played only 19 minutes against Toronto, but that's more than Wiseman (17) and Looney (14). On the season, he's fifth on the team in total minutes and sixth in MPG, behind only the current starters.

Of the 15 guys on the roster (includes Chriss), 14 are averaging double-digits in MPG, with only Nico averaging less. Not including Draymond, several of those haven't played in all 10 games -- Bazemore (8), JTA (6), Poole (6), and Nico (1). Paschall has played in all 10.

In this early part of the season, Kerr is giving guys a chance to earn a spot in the rotation. Everyone except Nico is getting in games, and when Kerr puts somebody in, he gives them some run, not just a couple of minutes. As the season progresses, the rotation will tighten up. Assuming Paschall stays healthy and keeps balling like this, his minutes will go up. I'm thrilled with how good he looks. No sophomore jinx for him.

Parish, Gus, and Wilkes...sigh...

Trading Parish and McHale for JB Carroll and Rickey Brown

I remember listening to Scotty Sterling being interviewed on KNBR about losing Gus and he actually said "Ricky Green is already a better player than Gus Williams will ever hope to be."

Instead of having Barry (who had a larger frame than Wilkes) also guard power forwards, it was all on Wilkes.

When looking at his per100 possessions numbers from his rookie year to this year, its fascinating to see how much shooting improvements can make such an impact.

He's virtually the same player as last year in terms of the rate of shooting, types of shots, getting to the line, rebounding, playmaking, and alot more attributes. He's just making his 3's and adding about 1 free throw per 100pos.

From a statistical standpoint, the big improvements are:
- 3point shooting percentage is up 100 points!
- Turnovers are down 2 turnovers per 100 possessions!
- slight uptick in 2point FG% and FT%, although those numbers were already good as a rookie

If his 3point percentage stays over 35%, he's officially a scoring machine off the bench. Again, don't expect rebounding to improve, it rarely does and he hasn't shown it this year. Shooting was the one thing he could potentially figure out, and it looks like he's made strides.

Thanks for posting the above information.

Can Paschall become a younger-and-more athletic version of David West for this year's iteration of the Warriors?

Yup, those were the examples I recall. And we ended up trading Rickey Green for a 2nd round pick after his rookie year with us, although that turned out well for us since we were able to get Mr. Mean with that pick. But as a Warrior fan, I thought Williams was a far superior PG than Dudley; Grasshopper was a great rebounder for a PG but his outside shooting made Oubre look good. And we didn't even receive anything for Gus other than cash compensation. And playing Wilkes as a power forward just had to be one of the dumbest coaching/operational decisions this team ever made.

But to answer mos def's question, I don't think we drafted bad players. Two hall of famers and a two-time All Star would be closer to being considered drafting good players in my book rather than drafting bad players. I just don't think we did a good job on developing them and putting them in optimal roles to be successful and I am hoping that we can do a better job with Paschall as a Warrior than we did in those three instances.
