The regularity in which Jrue embarrasses guys on defense will never get old. Cole Anthony will be having nightmares for weeks.

Would already be the one seed without Tatum missing a shot so badly it banked in.

Yep. Need one more playoff rotational bench guy and to figure out how to defend the PnR when it’s two guards/wings.

The change to a guy on the baseline on offense has opened things up.

Forbes is a lot more than solid when it comes to making threes in the NBA. He's one of the better shooters in the league. In 18-19, there were 16 guys, Forbes being one of them, that took 5 or more threes per contest and made 38% of them. He hit 42.6%. In 19-20, there were 23 guys who took 6 or more threes per contest and made 38% of them. Forbes his 38.8%. He's a knockdown shooter. So to say "when he's not making 3s" rings a little hollow. He's one of the guys you want on your roster actually taking those shots. The guy isn't Pat Connaughton tossing up 3 prayers a contest to the tune of 33%.

I don't know why anyone would be sitting here for two years like, "Ugh, our shooters are NOT good enough," and then you've got a guy like Forbes on your squad for dirt cheap, and you're sitting there like, "ugh, get him out of town ASAP." Doesn't make any sense. At 2.4 million, he presents tremendous value as a shooter even if he has his warts.

I don't know what the hell people think that type of salary figure gets them at this point. Direct your ire at the Augustin and Connaughton overpays, not Forbes.

I just can't stand watching Forbes play and apparently neither does the advanced stats. He might be one of the best 15-20 spot-up shooters in the league but no other part of his game is remotely NBA level, and his shooting hasn't been good enough to make up for that. Plus it doesn't seem like his basketball IQ is very high at all. Snell couldn't do anything besides shoot and he wasn't as good at that as Forbes, but at least he stayed out of the way.

It seems like he's just going to be a 15-20 MPG guy who is handcuffed to Giannis and the lineup data suggests it's working. But man, going from Hill/Matthews to Augustine/Forbes has been absolutely brutal.

Agreed on Forbes. He has a skill that will be extremely useful in the playoffs when teams put five guys in the lane and decide they will live or die based on the Bucks ability to hit open threes. Now if Augustin or Pat are actually hitting their threes, then yeah overall they offer more additional skills to help the team win, but if they are missing, Forbes can take their minutes and at least hit those shots.

These numbers are hilarious.

Depends. Overall guard play is definitely better than it was in the bubble. A case could be made for an overall improvement period.

I also don't think DJA is going to shoot 29% from 2 for the season

I think it maybe should be looked at more holistically than simply Hill/Matthews v. Augustine/Forbes. The backcourt really went from Bledsoe (and eventually playoff Bledsoe)/Matthews starting and Hill (shooting at an unrealistic 3P% pre-bubble)/DDV (year two version) on the bench to Jrue/DDV (year 3, much improved version) starting and Augustine/Forbes on the bench.

The bench in the former scenario was definitely better but the starting lineup in the latter scenario is much improved and potentially light years better in the playoffs. The starting lineup is much more important as they should be getting a bulk of the minutes and that is even more true in the playoffs. They consolidated assets to strengthen the top of their roster this off-season. As a result they are no longer insanely deep and you have guys who can contribute but have their flaws on the bench such as Augustine and Forbes. It's up to Bud to use those guys correctly and it appears he is with Forbes by tethering him to Giannis.

New RAPTOR rankings have come out, and Forbes ranks 238 out of 249 players. He's not good.

You used to be able to work to push Khris off his spots. At this point he's just got too many **** spots.

I guess that's why DD has disappeared for awhile, until Khris has an off night.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yeah, the RAPTOR ratings always have enough just obviously wrong ratings that it's enough for me to almost entirely discredit it.

Anything that's driven by +/- is going to be a **** show with only ~10 games to look at.

Sure, but even looking at last years final ratings there are some...interesting rankings.

RAPTOR is there to let us know that aggregating tracking data is not yet a useful exercise.
