Greta interview by my favorite journalist Kara Swisher with some lady who has wrote a book about dictatorships.

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/pivot/id1073226719?i=1000505079698

Highlighted some basic characteristics that all these fools share

1. They pretend they’re the savior but are also always being persecuted
2. Desperate for immediate ego gratification
3. They always use the we language to give their cult a rallying cry

A lot more and I probably misrepresented some of it. As always my favorite podcast

Yep. They're delusional. They call each other "patriots" all the time. That's one way to identify one ... assuming they're not wearing any Trump, MAG, QAnon, Second Amendment/NRA, Don't Tread on Me, Punisher symbols on their attire.

if you'll recall a while back Snyder endorsed Biden and many of us wanted him to disavow that endorsement, nevertheless I sincerely hope he is held accountable for this crime although whatever slap on the wrist if any will never be enough to make up for what he did

I did not know that. Sounds more like legal strategy from his lawyer. Not a bad idea but his crime is too severe. He will have to serve time.

not arguing against democratic socialism here. i supported bernie and elizabeth warren in the primaries. just pointing out that those are not good comparisons for our context. much smaller and far more homogenous societies at play. much easier to manage and apply the tenets there. the US is a true unwieldy monster. i'd love to see some detailed proposals on how it would look for us that go beyond the ideology, which i like.
RIP magnumt

welcome home, thibs.

White riot - I wanna riot
White riot - a riot of my own
White riot - I wanna riot
White riot - a riot of my own

Black man gotta lot a problems
But they don't mind throwing a brick
White people go to school
Where they teach you how to be thick
An' everybody's doing
Just what they're told to
An' nobody wants
To go to jail!

White riot - I wanna riot
White riot - a riot of my own
White riot - I wanna riot
White riot - a riot of my own

All the power's in the hands
Of people rich enough to buy it
While we walk the street
Too chicken to even try it
Everybody's doing
Just what they're told to
Nobody wants
To go to jail!

White riot - I wanna riot
White riot - a riot of my own
White riot - I wanna riot
White riot - a riot of my own
White riot - I wanna riot
White riot - a riot of my own
White riot - I wanna riot
White riot - a riot of my own
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.
