Holy smokes! Also Harden and Kyrie on the same squad.. man. How has Oladipo looked this season? If this was Dipo from two years back I'd say the Rockets are still playoff contenders, he has been struggling after his injury though.

Yeah even with Dipo, Rockets didn't do too well in this trade.

Did they get Joe Harris? Dude is over 50% from 3 this season. Can't see him getting even his normal 5 shots with Harden/Kyrie and others around. Anyone sure on details yet? Did Kyrie get sent?

This is ridiculously critical if you are serious but it is funny. The Rockets are not looking like a great model anymore. Wonder how Rosas' stock would be if he was still there after this implosion.
That said, I think they were at their best when they had Capela. To me he was the 2nd most important player on that team, he dictated everything with his defense. They really effed up when they went mega small ball. I think the NBA has changed again in just a couple of seasons and teams are bigger today too. Lakers are huge and the Warriors have even gotten bigger now that they got Wiseman.
I don't know if you can afford to be small at the 4 and 5 right now, not unless you have some elite players in those positions.

I heard Kevin Love's name come up this morning. Did Cleveland throw him in?

Kyrie’s been “furious” at the organization for some time for not giving him more input on the head coach hiring.
He was not in favor of Steve Nash.
Also, his relationship with Kevin Durant has been described as “very distant” recently.
Stephen A. Smith was asked if Kyrie Irving is worth the drama;
“No, he’s not, he’s not worth it at all...I think Kyrie Irving should retire; I think he should announce his retirement today. Clearly, you don’t want to play basketball bad enough
I don't know who's the worst between Kyrie and Harden... Seriously
Such a drama queen's with way too much power.
There's levels to this.
Harden is healthy and all time great offensive player, who is top 4 in the league at worst, at his absolute peak prime despite being 5 years older then Kyrie. While Kyrie at best is top 15-20 player in the league, constantly injured, and OUTRIGHT deranged in how he creates nonstop drama out of thin air in his last 3 organisations.
Hardens drama was to leave them, after giving them near decade of elite BBall. Kyrie has been actively playing only few months for Nets, and he is already in the outs for most bizzare reasons possible? He needs to GTFO with that nonsense.
Kyrie is not giving you enough on the court to be worth this noise, while Harden defenitely is.

"Ben Simmons was absolutely on the table," said Tim MacMahon.
"I can add something here," said Brian Windhorst. "In speaking to individuals with knowledge, Ben Simmons was prepared to be traded today. I don't know if I can say expected to be traded, but was prepared to be traded. Was ready to be traded. They never told him he was going to be traded."
it's floating around realGM somewhere for the rest of it. He's primed for a move.

If Vanderbilt fits the PF mold here (he does), I think we should give this guy a look.

A lot of Sixer fans have turned on Ben Simmons. Calling him weak, saying you cant win with him on your team, etc. Crazy how fast opinions can change. I do think his inability to shoot is a huge flaw but he makes up for it in other areas, probably can't be your 1 guy though.

Someone was defending him on the radio yesterday saying this is just who he is and people shouldnt' demand he attempts more 3s, etc. Claimed he was plenty good at everything else he brings and that 16 pts/8 assists plus rebounds, defense etc... I'm thinking, yeah but...they maxed him. Got to stop maxing all these guys that are limited. These are killer contracts for the rest of your roster, they can't be limited in a big way. He's no different than Rudy Gobert and all the NBA experts were lashing out at his huge contract saying...not for a center like that, he doesn't score like a max player. Well, how is Simmons all that different? If Simmons was on one of the non max mid range deals teams would knock on Philly's door everyday for trade offers.

Flexibility is key when building a new team.
HOU have the most flexibility in the league now for the forseeable future.
IMO they made out like bandits given the fact that Harden clearly did not want to be there anymore.
Brooklyn has a three year window given the age of Durant and Harden...HOU will be getting picks for 7 years.
I'd say this deal is an amazing gamble by HOU.
