3-way trade with the Raptors, Sixers and Pacers.

Raptors receive Myles Turner / Tyrese Maxey / Danny Green / Mike Scott / 2021 PHI #1

Sixers receive Kyle Lowry / Alex Len / Patrick McCaw

Pacers receive Norman Powell / Tony Bradley / Matisse Thybulle

I like it for the Raptors. I think the Pacers would like it too. The 76ers are giving up a lot.

He's just way too much of a liability offensively for me. He's Danny Green without the three point shot offensively. As possibly the worst offensive team in NBA and getting dramatically worse by getting rid of 1/3rd of our guys that can do anything offensively, I don't get the point. Defense is our strong suit. As much as I know a bunch of you are making this trade by fueling the tank, I am more inclined to do this to reward Lowry, understand we need to rebuild, but I'm not cheering for losses. Not until the last ten games of the year anyways. No good habits were ever made trying to lose, but obviously this trade makes it even harder for us to win. Personally, would love to get Oladipo in offseason to accelerate the rebuild, providing that dude would come. Probably a longshot now that we're no good, but with say an Evan Mobley drafted, maybe he could see the upside.

Honest question. Is he any better than Stanley?

Watch some of his highlights - very fluid on defense

I mean I get it. He’s nice on defense, but so is Stanley

I think Thybulle is only 1 year younger.

They’re both really bad offensive players.

Everything you could say about thybulle you could say about Stanley I feel.

Take out Maxey and it's not worth it for the Raps. Philly's 1st will be late, Green/Scott are filler and Turner is pretty overrated and you don't want to sick that much in the C spot.

It depends on what Kyle's value is on the market but I don't love it. I would rather get one of a first round pick, Maxey, or Thybulle instead instead of Turner.

Sixers are giving up low utilization fringe and young players. Their 9-man rotation after the trade would be:

Lowry / Shake
Curry / McCaw
Simmons / Korkmaz
Harris / (Simmons)
Embiid / Howard

IMO, Thybulle is a more impactful perimeter defender with elite quickness and length. Thybulle primarily defends PG/SG at the 3 point line. Stanley has that Ron Artest style strength-based defense. Notice Stanley primary defends SF/PF (Kawhi, David West etc), in the high post.

Thybulle may not have Stanley's handle, but Thybulle's jumping ability and form should give him a higher ceiling as a 3 point shooter, if he works hard on it. Overall Thybulle is perfect prospect for a 3&D specialist.

Finally, Thybulle has lost his mins this season due to Doc Rivers preferring shooters (which he is not, not yet) getting mins around Embiid. Not willing to give mins in a contending sesson to a developing raw young player. This is a good buy low candidate.

Yeah the 76ers will look good after the trade. Based on the trade market though, the 76ers would be giving up more than they probably have to. This doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad trade for them but just not great value. If Lowry agrees to extend his contract, I could see the 76ers being happy with the trade.

I think a lowry-Sixers trade is more likely without a harden sixers trade, also with Harden possibly heading to the Nets which may go down any second now.

Could potentially kickstart some earlier Lowry trade talks.

I beg to differ.

Well that's basically why I don't think this deal gets done. One version is too much and the other not enough.

Siakam
OG

Hopefully the Sixers get desperate. They are probably the 4th best team right now after the Nets/Bucks/Celtics. Don’t think Miami stands pat either.

2 picks, (2021, 2023) 2 swaps (2022, 2024) and a prospect is the going rate Philly!

I'd do the above Pacers deal with the picks involved and Maxey out.

this is obvious. this team isnt a championship contender while lowry is here realistically in 3-4 years if things fall ight this team hopefully competes for a ship again. theyre a playoff team with a quick retool and the right draft picks

Lowry to Sixers makes too much sense.....Raptors have all the leverage now.

Maxey was never the key piece of that trade. You’re forgetting that Simmons was 90 percent of the return.

Need a bidding war between Miami and Philly.

For me it’s Maxey + or no deal

Return to Toronto Raptors
