Will we ever see an organic champion again?

Post#1 » by GrandTheftRondo » Wed Jan 13, 2021 10:43 pm

Seriously. The NBA is completely rooted in my opinion.

The players clearly have all the power. A top 5 player can now force his out of while contracted for a pile of steaming ****.

Nobody wants to preserve through anything it seems like and they’d rather force their way to go play with LeBron, KD etc.

Does anyone actually find this **** entertaining?

Lebron started this BS. It's really all his fault. Can't wait for this fraud to retire.

Wait until the next CBA. I expect the owners to take extraordinary steps to reverse what has been going on.

Were the Lakers not organic last year? I thought they were a middle-of-the-pact team with aging role players/left-overs like Rondo, Howard, Green and Cousins.

Funny how the goal posts change so often.

No, once players finish their second contract while entering their prime they all want to go somewhere else.

Typical hater rhetoric. Superteams were built before LeBron's exit from Cleveland.

The foreigners will have to end this era of American AAU friendships. Giannis/Luka will be our saviors.

As long as people call KG, LBJ, Curry, Kawhi and KD top players in NBA history (and not put asterisks due to collusion) it will continue

A champion is a champion to me.

But going by the OP's definition, the Lakers were anything but organic.

That has nothing to do with them being inorganic

LeBron signed there and then AD forced his way there

OP is talking about teams that had homegrown talent lead them to a championship, like the 15 Warriors, 14 Spurs, and 11 Mavs.

Define "organic".

Is signing free agents organic? Is trading for players organic? Is changing coaches organic? Are there degrees to everything?

In reality, nobody has the right to define this concept universally. We all have opinions about it and everybody is right and wrong at the same time.

Yes Lebron started the big 3 in boston

You do realize Wilt and Kareem wanted out in the 60s and 70s right?

And then many examples after that?

KD is the only guy I can recall who joined a prime MVP and has now played with THREE mvps in THEIR PRIME

Didn't he demand his way to the Lakers before the draft? Even that situation wasn't totally by the book.

To answer the OP question nope, there is too much pressure on these guys to win rings so they will stack and when one team does it, it forces other teams to do it also.

Organic = white guys in suits making decisions for the team because I don’t want players having any power ...........except for guys like Luka and Jokic.

I hope Luka will be that dude. Those American players just have no loyalty in them anymore.

Weren't the Raptors kinda organic? I mean sure they traded for a Top 3 player, but the rest of the team sans Gasol was there for a while.

Or are you looking fir a team like the pre KD Warriors?

I agree. Nba is just **** awful at this point and I don't think that that will change any time soon.

People clown giannis for staying with the bucks. He will probably won't win a ring there but at least he would rather player for them than creating another superteam somewhere.
