He might not play much more than 50 games, but if he's in shape for the playoffs, that's all that matters. Kyrie might not play more than 60 games. Harden is the only guy you can count on every game.

I wasn't a big Allen fan coming into the year but he has been really good this year.

Cle has 7 guys that play C. WTF?

We could use one.

I think their starters have already played together as the exact same lineup in Team USA. They have 60 games to find their chemistry, but they are top tier players, they have experience and especially they have the desire to prove themselves. I mean if our 3s don't fall, they can easily drop +40 points on us

I like the trade for the Nets, their roster looks real good with Harden, it's unfortunate Dinwiddie is out for the season. Other than the center, they have a great starting 4 who are great shooters.

PG: Kyrie / Shamet
SG: Harden / Johnson / Brown
SF: Harris / Luwawu-Cararrot
PF: Durant / Green
C: Jordan / Claxton

Wow, the Cavs have 4-5 centers and another 4 PFs in their roster. With the addition of Allen, looks like Thon will lose all his playing time.

TIL that Thon has made a smidge over $13mill to prove he can't play basketball.

Life is not fair.

We're racing the Nets for the buyout bigs. Could be a huge one.

Thon should thank Hammond for his wealth. With USD 13M, Thon can return to Australia and retire (if he doesn't go crazy with the spending).

I'm surprised that the Nets didn't get McGee in the trade to be their second center.

Unless they can get both I think they'll want what we want, a PF/C.

How funny is it the Nets traded away their younger and better center a day after Jordan got DNP’d?

At least we can be the underdog to come out of the East now, we've sucked as the favorite.

Not just all stars, MVPS... Irving hasn't won one and likely won't but he has been in the running. Barring implosion or injuries they will win the East, playoffs favor stars heavily. They can basically treat Irving like Rodman, let him have his personal time as long as he's ready for playoffs. That's probably preferable as it cuts down on injury likelihood and spreads touches around.

Agreed. Come playoff time they'll all be ready and focused. It pisses me off that we likely didn't even try to acquire Harden. Every other winning team did.
We have Giannis Antetokounmpo and you don't. :naaa:

I still think we matchup well. Hell, with Jordan at C Lopez even matches up amazing on both ends with Brooklyn. With their starting five they have to put Durant on Giannis and Harden or Harris on Middleton as well. Both those matchups the Bucks will destroy. Holiday will abuse Irving inside. We will see.

Quite frankly I'm disgusted by this. Rockets have done everything he has asked for and he treats them absolutely like crap. He then gets traded to the team he wanted to go to. I wonder if the association had anything to do with this, finally getting a east coast big market team to contend.Harden is a piece of crap. To bad the rockets didn't trade him to Detroit or Minnesota. That would have been nice.

Conspiracy theory: Harden and Kyrie are conspiring to get James to BKN. Harden goes full malcontent and says Houston sucks; meanwhile, Kyrie vanishes and has no return date, perhaps pressuring BKN's FO to overpay for James as Kyrie's "insurance."

I have seen some people comparing this Nets team to the 2016-17 Warriors. One major difference - that Warriors team was 2nd on defense. I expect this Nets team to be bottom 5.

Re: Brooklyn. Its not that we cant beat them. I dont think anyone would question the discrepancy in star power though and sometimes that simply wins out.

If anything, it makes the EC playoffs just as, if not more interesting, than the WC.
