We'll still be two years away when Brooklyn get their own pick back in 2028.
The worst problem a franchise can have is an owner who keeps hiring incompetent front offices. Because there's really no light at the end of the tunnel. Nothing can cure incompetence. They have draft picks? They will miss. They have capspace? They will use it to sign losing players or players who don't fit. They have a vision? They'll put it in motion but fail to execute it.
The last time the Knicks were competent, David Stern intervened and had to force James Dolan to hire Donnie Walsh, who was then replaced by Glen Grunwald for a short period of time before Dolan fired him to promote Steve Mills. Here's the list of executives handpicked by James Dolan:
Scott Layden
Isiah Thomas
Steve Mills
Phil Jackson
Steve Mills
Scott Perry
Leon Rose
The Knicks will never contend for a championship like Brooklyn are doing under James Dolan. We're beyond irrelevant.
