Simons needs to go. We need a real pg to back up Dame or a play maker from another position. Nurkic was starting to get into that rhythm before his injury.

I wonder if Simons for kyle Anderson is possible?

What is appealing about that for MEM? They have a pretty stacked guard rotation as it is and a young guy in Bane that is 10X the player Simons is despite having much less time in the league.

G - Ja Morant / Tyus Jones / De'Anthony Melton
G - Grayson Allen / Desmond Bane / John Konchar

Literally every player in that guard rotation is better than Simons.

Hell, I would love to move him for John Koncar. Aim lower than Kyle. But I dont think MEM does that either.

I guess we'll get to see Gary Trent get more minutes. It'll be interesting to see how much their offense suffers without CJ. Relative to this year, it should suffer because he was shooting lights out.

His shooting percentage is only slightly better. The biggest difference is he is shooting more.

His TS% was up 8%. That is substantial.

Looks like normal deviation. He's not a better player or getting a better result because a change in system. He's the same player doing the same thing with equal skill. Every year is a little different, but not by much. Last year, he gave up some shots feeding Melo. The year before, he gave up some shots to Nurk.

Teams are signing regular players to exhibit 10 contracts because they don't count against the cap and the NBA removed the limitations because of China virus. If Blazers want bodies, they can sign 3 players to exhibit 10 contracts and suit them up as often as they have room on active roster.

His 3PT% is up 6.2%. That may not look like much, but its a very big leap.

But its not just his shooting. He is never turning the ball over (1 TO vs career 1.7), he is passing better (5.0 APG vs 3.2 career), he is getting to the line at a slightly better rate, he is posting his best WS48 (.223 vs career .107), he is posting his best OBPM (7.7! vs 2.1 career), he has an absurd ORTG of 128 (Career 111), +15 On/Off (Career +3.2).

He was having a Stephen Curry level season on offense, or at lease a very near Stephen Curry season on offense.

The dude was balling and clearly our best player so far this year. The team is going to really, really struggle without him. Much more than without Nurkic.

He's the same player, no better or worse. It does look like he and Lillard are sharing the lead role a little more than in the past. Still, Lillard is the lead a big majority of the time.

Beginning of last season, CJ had to go to make room for Simons. Good thing Olshey isn't so arbitrary with his player evaluations.

No question, Kevin Porter was out of control and possibly a nutcase. But, what about the Cavs. Why would a team move a player to a different locker, so they can give his locker to a different player? The Cavs and Porter sound like nuts.

I'm guessing they will play hard and barely miss or make the playoffs. But it would almost seem better for the team to play the younger guys more and get a better draft pick, and come back strong next season.

Idk, I saw it proposed in the trade threads and I've liked him since ucla. Attach a second? How much can he be worth? All I know is I wanted Rondo and Ibaka and both were possible but we went with djj, and hood.

MEM is trying to win and Kyle is having his best season. I think it would take a protected FRP, and also for salary either Hood or DJJ. At that point, I am likely out. Albeit a passer at forward would be huge for this team.
