At least Kyrie runs a little bit.

As if it aint enough that Cavs have a lot more FTs than us, refs ignore a blatant charge that results in made basket.

Problem is that aside from Kyrie no one is really attacking the basket enough to warrant foul calls.

This offense way too stagnant.... no legs...no hustle.
We're better when we ran n had the hustle...
Too much waiting n looking to see what kyrie/harden do

Harden is not playing like the player he was in Houston. Absolutely awful tonight just like last game.

More movement on that first set by the bench than there was for the starters for most of the game.

I don't even want to hear about the offense or passing or movement. If Cleveland is scoring every time down, we don't deserve to win. I'm glad we lost in basically a blowout. Defense needs to be fixed.

Not overreacting, my fears of what we could be vulnerable is true...
The over reliance of our big 3 is flawed.
The ball stopped moving... dont need 20 games in to figure that out

Oof. That was enough depressing basketball for me to last a week. Onward and upward.

Re: GT: Nets @ Cavs-Friday 1-22 7:30 The Big Payback
My thoughts on the game...
All the focus on the defense, it was bad, but like the first game not why we lost. 9 turnovers in the third quarter swung the game. turnovers + second chance points allowed is killing us. thats where the majority of the offense against us comes from... at least thats where the easy shots come from
Harden needs to check himself. Ill give him a pass for the first game with the big 3... no reason he should be deferring to TLC with no KD tonight and dribbling with no purpose 100 feet from the rim. He needed to rack up 15 FTA tonight. he rarely even considered going to the rim. when bums like cedi ossman are on you that needs to be a shot at the rim every time.
Nash has refused to adjust on both ends. we continually will trail on the pick and roll and it puts us in awful spots. he refuses to switch or blitz it. only time we looked competant vs the 1-5 pick and roll is when we went zone. Offensively he refuses to run the 1-5 pick and roll and instead wastes 10 seconds every time down with the quadrouble handoff up top. Rotations are whatever fans never agree with that, but he just is stubborn with basic basketball plays.
Bruce Brown is solid, but as i said yestarday, he isnt making a big impact to team defense. no non-big really can. 1 screen and he is switched off the play or trailing. Defense will get better when we cut turnovers and nash decides to play modern basketball on D. and we get a better big.
Reggie perry is a g-league scrub, i hope people finally realize that now.
2 games vs. miami coming up. we should smash them as long as KD plays. much better matchup for us then cleveland.
GB already rapping on Kyrie when he is the only guy who actually decided to show up and play with any kind of fire tonight.
on to the next one...

Don't get me started on the offense. I said what I said last game.
Of all the things that frustrate me on this board none do more then people clamoring for nic claxton... and nic claxton at center.
D-league scrub forwards are not solving our C struggles

Just to be clear, I'm not the ones who are pushing Claxton to start over Jordan or anything like that. It's all about developing from me. Him and Perry.
If anything, I'm less concerned with our bench than I am with us not playing our stars to their strengths.
Give Harden some 2 man plays and at the same time he's not the star of the show no more, he's got to be more active on defense and box out.
Both Durant and Kyrie has been showing up, they just need more chemistry with the rest of the squad and push them for more cut action.

I think we have done great playing to KD and Kyrie's strengths. I think Refusing to let harden play pick and roll is god awful coaching. maybe even a fireable offense if not corrected in 1-2 more games.
Nash coached as bad as you can the past 2 games. situationally, no adjustments, no fire. guy doesnt seem to have a knack for this.

Re: GT: Nets @ Cavs-Friday 1-22 7:30 The Big Payback
100% agree on Harden. As bad as our defense/rebounding issues are, I think that if Harden plays at the level that we expect for last two games, we take both of these games. He has played incredibly passive ball where he's barely attacking and constantly defers to other players, even role players. That's not the James Harden from Houston I know. My guess is it's a conditioning issue and he's working himself into shape, and also getting acclimated to new teammates.Prokorov wrote:My thoughts on the game...
