I'll take whatever win the Blazers can get at this point!

Great 1st quarter, good 2nd quarter, bad 2nd half. Decent offensive showing by Simon's and DJJ. I was surprised to see Hood not get more time. I thought he looked decent, as well.

It’s Good to see hood playing better, at the beginning of the year he was a net zero more or less

It was nice to see Simons his his shots. He seems to be useless if he misses his first shot or two, definatley a guy whos confidence rises and falls with shots going in.

At this point, if he becomes a Shabazz Napier level backup I will be pleasantly surprised. Just make those 3's. He wont ever be a plus defender.

If the Blazers are bent on keeping him, I'd like to see him develop more of an offensive game than simply jacking up shots. He did a little more last night which was good to see. We've heard how athletic he is for a couple of years now. Let's see it!!! Go to the basket and either put it down or draw the foul. If he is our backup PG, then act like it and start drawing defenders to you, then find the open man. If he can plays like he did tonight consistently and starts doing some of these other things, then I just might start to like him. Until then, I'm probably going to continue to bag on him. With CJ out, now is his time to shine. He can't complain he did not get an opportunity.

Over on the Knicks forum, someone posted a tweet from a guy named Steve Popper saying, "Julius Randle said that the officials told him after the game that they made a mistake on the call at the line - his sixth foul. Said he should have gone to the line for 2 and a tech - which could have tied the game." Dunno that I buy that. They reviewed the call. If they felt Kanter fouled Randle, don't they have the opportunity to overturn that or are they simply looking to see if it was a flagrant foul? And if they felt it was Kanter that caused the foul, but are unable to overturn it, why would they award a flagrant foul? I get that it was a questionable call, I just don't get the other stuff that resulted from it and don't know if the ref's would tell a player that.

It takes athleticism and strength to get to the rim at this league. Simons is built like a middle schooler. If it only took athleticism to get to the rim, DJJ would be averaging 8 FTA per game.

I think him becoming a shooter is much more likely than him developing a quality drive game.

Driving hard to the basket with the intention of drawing contact is fine if you're Lebron or Giannis, but if you're a 6'3 guard, you could jeopardize your career like D Rose. Plus, how many times do you see our Blazers get screwed by the refs? Dame... fine I guess, CJ... not really his game, and GTJ... same as CJ.

Simons overall looked good last game, but I think his obvious guarantee of minutes nearly cost us the game. He has a tough role in trying to develop true PG skills while learning from Dame and CJ, two nontraditional PGs. He also didn't go to college to actually learn how to play a non-AAU style of basketball. All in all, I think he's just fine continuing to take the baby steps, but with the injury to CJ, he now must continue to play well.
