That game looked like never-ending layup drills for the Wizard.
I've never seen anything like it in an NBA Game. Guys were just going end-to-end with no resistance.

Its hard to prevent layups when Nash outright refused to put Jordan back in the game

He was huge part of the reason why we lost 18pt lead. Did he stink less tonight? maybe, but you can't be really worse than what he was. I bet Shump will eat all their lunch money.
Want to send TLC, Shamet and TJ in Orlando. Get them some rhythm, playing vs bums might help.
Shamet was one of our better players tonight

When you see a stat like that it should concern the organization from top to bottom, fans included.
If God gave me just one sports wish, within the realm of reality, I would wish to God for Andre Drummond.
You would never see a team, ANY TEAM or ANY BIG, dominate the paint like that again.
When you play no center for 30 minutes your not going to prevent points in the paint

We lost this game long before that Joe Harris in bounds.
Steve Nash flat out cost us this game. his coaching was so bad you have to question if he was trying to throw this game. Like maybe he wants out and is trying to get fired? you cant make kindergarden mistakes in the NBA 5 times a night.
How in the world can Deandre Jordan be glued to the bench when he was a +14 in 18 minutes in a game where they scored 75 points at the rim? I get that going small benefits us at times. but green was providing no rim proteciton. he was a -19.
No deandre provide 0 resitance at the rim. it allowed Washing to run with no threat of us getting an offensive rebound. it allowed washington to double on screens and KD baseline catches because they werent worried about a big getting an easy dunk (deandre had 4 of them in just 18 minutes).
Yeah we still should have won, they had a super flukey 6 points. but even then:
1) why are you letting their best player walk into a three? make him take a 2 there. part the red seas if you need to
2) why arent you calling a timeout after that bucket?
-advances to halfcourt so that a turnover doesnt lead to an immediate 3
-allows you to sub in a better FT shooter for bruce brown
I havent been this upset at a loss since the playoff loss to the bulls in the dwill era where they came back down 20.
We will NOT make the eastern conference finals if Nash is sitll coaching. i know its his first gig and he can improve. but literally there are grammar school coaches better. im condifent half here on this board would do a better job. i honestly think he knows he is over his head and wants to be fired

Because our coach is OVERRATED. I have been said he is WAY in over his head. He is.
How you over rate rookie coach who's only few months into this gig
you have to overrate nash because the words to describe how awful he is havent been created yet. no matter how badly you rate him, thats not bad enough

Calling a T.O. after that 3 was a no brainer, then we take it out at half court instead of under our basket.
In his defense, I don't know if there was even time for Nash to call one before Joe Harris brain sharted.
you need to prep your team though... like:
1) "hey guys, dont let them shoot a 3 here, conceed the 2 if you need to"
2) "Hey guys, we have 2 timeouts... if hit a 3 we want a timeout... so we can advance to halfcourt and get our shooters in"
or
2b) "hey guys, we have 2 timeouts... if they score, look to get it to Kyrie/KD. but if its not there call a TO
3) if we get it inbound and they dont foul and trap hard, burn a timeout
4) "Get the ball out of beals hands by mid court, make someone else make a play here"
He needs to go. because the longer it goes without firing him the worse for our team.

Also... it isnt just Nash. The assistants and players need to be on him too. Someone needs to stand up and be like... PUT DJ IN!
I dont care how much you hate Jordan or how down you are on his play. we were getting dominated within 3 feet on both ends. Dandre was a +14 with 4 dunks in 18 minutes. He would have provided some form of resistance and some threat of a lob. you need to at least throw him on the floor for a few possessions to change momentum/look.

Russ stole 3 or 4 inbound balls. You can harp on d all you want and you'll be right too, dumb plays and mental lapses is what kills us.
That's why I'll repeat myself saying that Harden has to be best player and dominate for us to win. KD and Kyrie can take their time going off but they have nothing on Harden being dominant. He dominate game in so many ways it's joy to watch. I feel dumb confident with him playing.
Marks will have to find a big who can block shots and shoot jumpers. I hate to admit this but we playing D'Antoni bball and he'll have to impose Nash to play with C for the most game. He should be reminded the fact his Suns went to WCF while having C playing entire game. They went to CF with rookie Robin Lopez and Dragic coming of the bench.

It doesnt matter who marks signs if Nash refuses to play a center. I get it if DJ sucks or is hurt, but he was playing well and we were up big when he was in. it is simply inexcusable.

Ones Wagner started to hit jumpers DJ haven't seen the floor since than. Happened sometime during 3d quarter. Bertans couldn't hit a damn thing and DJ played ok. However there were different games where you could've used DJ for rim protection and lob threat, yet he didn't play entire fourth quarter. Its an issue.

I'm not worried about Wagner hitting mid range shots. Especially when deandre is throwing down reverse alley-oops, blocking shots, and grabbing rebounds.
i mean 8/8/2 in 18 minutes and a +14 and we built a big lead with him in.
Forget losing on an inbounds. if deandre plays 30 minutes, we probably win by 10+
its inexplicable. and for nash to come out and blame the players id dog crap. you dont coach your way to a loss then throw your team under the bus. we all know it was a bad defensive effort, but dude, you did ZERO to help things.

Why didn't we call a T.O. after Beal hit that 3, then take it out at half-court?
1) The HC didn't instruct the team properly before the play.
2) His assistants, two former HC's, didn't help and remind him.
3) A team of veteran players who should have known what to do, panicked and didn't do it.
It was a systemwide failure from A to Z

Having Nash as a coach of this super team is a joke. It's could be a short championship window and this unnecessary experiment can ruin it.

This is a team game but I detest the blaming of our role players and coach over our star players. Especially when they get no touches or say and are asked to deliver in key moments. Something I will miss about the Kenny era.
I was skeptical of the Harden trade mostly because of the picks, but it’s clear how valuable Allen was for us. It might still work out but our interior defense needs to be addressed. And newsflash Shumpert won’t fix it
If a turnover is committed on a pass, it is the fault of the passer, not the receiver.
Joe literally threw the ball to Washington when KD was already out of the frame. That was a major brainfart.

As always, a loss is not something that can be attributed solely onto one person.
Harris messed up. Nash messed up. As a team we played no defense.
Plenty of blame to go all around here.

We barely won all those games and didn't play a lick of defense. Thats not what contending teams do.
— Shortened preseason
— Main stars returning from season-ending injuries
— Had to reset the jelling process after trading for Harden and trading away our best interior defender
There’s plenty of legitimate reasons why we’re not firing on all cylinders.
We’re signing free agents to help fill in some gaps and we should be a major player in the buyout market.
Plus, contending teams lose to horrible teams all of the time. They’re called trap games for a reason. The good team expects tho win just by showing up and the other team gives max effort, hence the trap.
While I’m disappointed at all of the foolishness that happened tonight, I don’t think it’s a precursor to or a foreshadowing of anything. This happens regularly. Hell, the Lakers got blown out by the Pistons.
On to the next one...
this was my thought too a few minutes after the game. Once in a while these games happen. Exactly why they're called trap games. Didn't the Lakers just lose to the Pistons too? Stuff happens. Learn and move on, got to have a short term memory.
