Re: Joel Embiid
My dude currently has the 10th best PER in the history of the game. Remember when folks wished we got McBuckets instead?
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

I do remember a few McBuckets wishers. There were 5x as many Donte Exum wishers though.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

He should get more easy looks closer to the rim. The problem is we don't have anybody who can break down the defense and get him those looks.
It's scary to think he could be even better.

I'm trying to figure out what you're interpreting from that stat.
That he should shoot more in the paint? Or that he should shoot more jumpers?
Personally, I don't think Embiid really needs to adjust much of anything right now. He's putting up damn near 30 a game on elite efficiency.

I would be extremely surprised if Embiid can sustain his current mid range shooting. He is hitting off the dribble jumpers at what feels like an insane rate.

In KOC's power rankings he said that a source informed him that Jo put a lot of work into his face up game and the dribble jumper over the summer. KOC thinks he could sustain it and the improvement is real.

Im saying I WAS RIGHT that Biid should shoot more outside the paint which is what he is doing this season by shooting a higher FG% on mid range than michael jordan and is shown by this chart.
He should adjust much cause he already have adjusted

First off, ugh.
Second, what's his mid range game got to do with shots in the paint?

Re: Joel Embiid
Embiid is shooting the face-up jumpers with intention. It's not like in the past when he would resort to it because he didn't want to bang in the post or was fatigued.
I think the shooting splits are pretty damn close to a new normal. He's leveling up offensively.

He looks so confident right now.
That hesi and euro step, paired with his deadly mid range makes him almost unstoppable.

Good thing that Embiid likes to do both, score from the post and from outside, the best of both worlds. Too bad some posters only want modahn offense, it's like scoring from the post is a bad thing of the past or something.

I agree his face up game has become elite but I think the big man would benefit from getting more easy buckets at the rim from breakdowns and currently we dont have the personnel.

The dribble face up jumper is KD like. It's impossible to stop considering Embiid's height and length. Embiid has finally figured it out. The staring down or backing down opponents wastes a lot of time off the shot clock plus gives defenses a chance to reset.
The dribble jumper is deadly. I mean what else can an opponent do? Close up near Embiid, than he can just use the swing move and get fouled cause he's so long. Embiid has always had a soft touch. We saw his mid range rookie season and for some reason his mid range was very flat in seasons 2,3,4. But this season it's been very consistent. That 10-12 foot jumper. It's a free throw for Embiid.

It is almost like he is unlocking these little elements of his game, and each one makes him harder to guard.

Re: Joel Embiid
Embiid's greatness isn't being fully appreciated yet, even by 76ers fans. If Embiid plays at this level through the end of this contract, he's a top 7 Center of All-time.

Thank you 100000% agree. Right from his first game he won with arguably the worst roster in NBA history.
His production from his very first moment he played is at an all time level in both defense and in scoring rate (career per 36 it’s at 28.8!).
Healthy/Durable Embiid without injuries is easily in the inner sanctum of the greatest centers in NBA history.
Everything should have been catered/or centralized around him ffs.
Imagine if he ever had the prototype guard/sg from the beginning that all great bigs (even top 20 all time) had.
I was being dead serious in saying mutlitple chips as the dividend if you build around Embiid the right way isn’t some fantasy at all.
He’s a lot more closer to Shaq than people realize.

Hell Shaq flat out said that he's more Jo is more talented than him, and the best big man right now.

No question he’s more talented in that sense (shooting wise, free throws etc.)
But Shaq was still in a ways far more dominant. But give Embiid health and the late great kobe and that’s a dynasty awaiting. easy
