Seems like they rounded out the roster with a few more established guys, but I've got to think they'll get smoked by most of these teams.

100% disagree. Feel like they put NBA vets who still could play in the league alongside these guys. Jarrett Jack is a top G League option, Amir Johnson is very good, and Bobby Brown is a walking bucket (just ask anyone at Rico's open runs).

Yeah their vets played great. I doubt Jack is going to shoot that well regularly though.

And at least today only Kuminga, Green, and Nix got major minutes as the young guns. Kuminga and Nix were both positive players in their minutes.

Even before the game was played, you have to know that Bobby Brown is a walking bucket and Jack is NBA level. Amir Johnson had a long NBA career - not sure yet how productive he is now.

Even if Jack doesn't shoot as well as he did, he can control tempo, and move the ball around. You need a great lead guard. Post game, Jack looked great, though his offensive fouls did not really help.

What's the point of this team if IT and Nix play sub 20 minutes and Kai Sotto gets a DNP? Who cares if they win or not. Give the young guns all the minutes otherwise this whole project is pointless

I can easily see Kuminga being a top 2 guy on my board. The combination of an excellent physical profile (size, strength, hops and fluidity) with an intriguing skill foundation (passing, ball handling, jumper – all of which look to be there down the road) is hard to pass up on. If he develops as hoped, he comes awfully close to the most in-demand archetype in the NBA right now.

Got lost on defense but that's not something to worry about at this point.

I have a feeling my property on Kuminga island is going to get a little more crowded. I’ve been singing this kid’s praises for quite sometime now. Love everything about his game. Think the kid is going to be special.

What was better? The dunk or the full court bounce pass? Both were great imo.

im on the kuminga hype train. dont like green's game.
top drafting gms are looking for two way wings and kuminga is the next patrick williams.
rather trade down mobley if im top 2 bc guys overhyped as well get additional draft capital.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

They get paid, are free to sign endorsement deals, and practice every day (without NCAA restrictions on workout time) against better competition than they’d play against in college. I’m sure Nix is going to get more minutes going forwards and Sotto isn’t really an NBA prospect at the moment.

The assumption that everyone who goes direct to G League are going to the NBA after one year is wrong.

Quiet as kept he's moving up the boards for me. I remember asking you what was the selling point before but the more i see him and he adds wrinkle after wrinkle after wrinkle there's a lot there to love.

At first I was just really sold on the physical profile to go with the solid shooting form. But ya he started to shoot up my board the more I watched him. Just loved the progression that he was showing.

He is #1 on my board. Loving the back to the basket game he is showing, his size and quickness on those spins is pretty deadly. Also loved reading all the reports from the scrimmages early on about how he just naturally was the alpha of the team. I just think he is the ideal player in today’s NBA.

he's certainly starting to appear like it. number option potential, 3 level scoring potential, elite 2-way potential, above average in the athleticism department, the physical profile you spoke of, and enough passing chops to keep you honest. Also seems to be coming into an understanding of how good he can be if the work is put in.

Kuminga will likely be a wealthy man's Patrick Williams.

I see Kuminga as a better version of Jaylen Brown as a prospect.

This project is pointless. Complete waste of time and money. These kids should be in college. It takes this long for them to actually play in games and it is going to be for a limited time. Hope they put and end to G League Ignite.

NCAA is going to let college players sign endorsement deals next year. Yes the competition is probably better but the platform and stage is nothing like college and the NCAA tournament. The money isn’t all that for the G League. $500k after taxes is like $250k. Don’t understand why there is such a push to make 18 year olds professional athletes. Let them enjoy being a kid and develop against people their own age. Fundamentally I’m not sure what the quality of play is like for the G League especially on the defensive end. There have been guys that light it up in the G League and can’t do anything in the NBA. Wish they could go back to the era when stars like Jordan and then Grant Hill and Shaq and Duncan played 3-4 years in college. All of them ended up doing well in the NBA and it wasn’t as watered down as it now is.

I don't think Kuminga and Brown are much alike. I see more Siakam
