I’d have Jokic and Embiid over LeBron because they are trying more, record be damned.

LeBron played better and harder in the RS in 2016, 2018, and 2020 where he finished 3rd, 2nd, and 2nd in MVP voting respectively. And then he went on to win titles in 2 of those years and make the Finals/have maybe his best postseason in the other. He’ll be fine.

Yea, but he wasn't 36y old.

Career low minutes still. The short turnaround could be a big factor though

You haven't watched games, if you think LBJ is not trying. Playing on both ends, not like Jokic.

LeBron has played every single game his team has played. Embiid has missed 19% of his team’s games. LeBron is also playing more minutes per game.

But sure, Embiid is “trying more.”

It all comes down to nba record and seeding. I think because of nba voter fatigue. They are reluctant to vote for lebron again. Or even Giannis.

But if sixers drop down to 3 or 4 seed. Jokic nuggets linger in the 4-5 seed. It’s hard to award an mvp to those guys.

Lebron is my vote right now.

Than Jokic and than Embiid.

And I’m a sixers fan

Embiid has been amazing this year. But sixers weakness is showing this west coast trip. And it’s not because of Embiid. It’s the team. Especially their bench. So Embiid is gonna to suffer the same fate as Jokic as the losses pile up. The minute Embiid leaves the floor. The sixers lead disappears or they trail by even more. As evident by their last two losses to Portland and the Suns. Sixers don’t have enough offense and the shake Milton injury has really hurt them off the bench.

But all teams deal with injuries. Lebron just happens to have a true 1A robin top 4-7 nba player as his side kick. Which helps big time when he’s off the floor.

lebron gets my vote today for league mvp.

Lebron is the clear-cut mvp, it's not even close.

I've been saying it would be LeBron since before the season. I thought KD has had a chance but COVID tracing has caused him to miss too many games.

Embiid is right there with LeBron but I don't think their record will be as good down the line.

Lakers finish #1 or #2 in the NBA. In which case it almost has to be LeBron.

I don't know who ultimately WILL win, but I really hope that LeBron DOES win. How cool is that for a guy to win FIVE MVPs?!

Well, Embiid isn't entirely free from blame in those losses. The fact that his offensive threat gets severely mitigated in clutch situations, because of his inability to pass or shoot a higher volume 3 pointers. Not saying it's everything, but it's something.

Bron & Jokic's 5 APG advantage kinda blows Embiid's 3 PPG scoring advantage out of the water and then some, specially considering that Embiid has a higher Usage% than either of them.
Jokic - 29%
Bron - 31%
Embiid - 33%

Jokic's defense gets unfair flak cos of his body type and the overall lack of basic stats to quantify defense like PPG, APG, FG%, etc. People still think dumb.ass Dwight was a great defender for the Lakers last year because they care more about the theatrics than the fact that he was basically a liability all through the playoffs and every single advanced defensive stat is negative for him for 2019-20 season. Good riddance!

DBPM
Jokic - 2.3*
Bron - 1.3
Embiid - 1.4

DWS
Jokic - 1.3
Bron - 1.8*
Embiid - 1.3

Their DRTG are congruent to their respective teams' Net Rating numbers, so Idk how much you can attribute those to players as their teams are so wide apart on DRTG. All of them have been better than their respective teams. Old man's been playing surprisingly well on D.

Jokic - 111. 7 Nugs - 113.2 - 2.5
Bron - 101.5 Lakers - 105.4* - 3.9
Embiid - 107.4 76ers - 110.1 - 2.7

Basic stats -
Jokic - 11.4r, .6 blk, 1.6 stl
Bron - 7.9r, .5 blk, 1.2 stl
Embiid - 10.8, 1.2 blk, 1.2 slt

All this while Embiid plays with a DPOY favorite Ben Simmons on the same team.

I don't get the team records playing a part in MVP voting. We're not voting for the Most valuable Front Office or Coach ffs. Think Jokic has been the all around best player by about a 15-20% margin so far this season, same as Kobe's 2006-10 seasons, Lebron's 2011-2018 seasons, so he's my MVP.

Joker(5.5) also leads both of them by a ridiculous margin in Win Shares - Embiid - 4.2, Bron 4.0. 1.3 WS is the same margin between Rank 2 - Embiid and Rank 27 - Kyrie.

I think usage is a stat we should move away from, its just a box score stat doesnt really tell you much. NBA.com has great tracking stats that shows how much a player has the ball. Time of possession has Embiid averaging 3 seconds per possession, Jokic has the ball 1.5 x that and Lebron is more than double.

Lebron is unbelievable.

Jokic/Curry/Lillard/Doncic (record)
Embiid/Durant/Leonard (durability)
Giannis (not as dominant as before, voter’s fatigue)

All putting up MVP type numbers/impact (Harden too)

He has all factors well covered (Impact/Record/Durability) and better than everybody else and he’s 36 lol. Appreciate him while you can it’s a blessing to see him play at such a high lvl after 18 years.

MVPS mean nothing but they’ll start to actually tarnish reputations if LeBron could win over guys like Jokic and Embiid this year.

Well if LBJ stays top 3 in the west without AD, than he wins for sure. IF they sink, then others have a much more arguments for MVP.

lmao lebum pads his stats against bum teams all week and now plays Jokic and disappears in the second half

Jokic is the clear MVP right now..bronsexuals are a weird breed

Warning --- do not bait other users. Remove "Lebum" and "bronsexuals" from your vocabulary in this topic (and forum hopefully).

And here we see the homo retardicus, an ancient species said to be almost extinct, mainly due to the big intellectual wave. It is extremely rare to see this creature in the open, as most have retreated due to societal evolution and it's lack to adapt to their new surroundings.
