Or maybe you get a little crazy and go after a guy that can be a playmaker, shooter AND defender in Lowry.

I much prefer a traditional setup rather than different types of concepts. It’s what got Ben to be mismanaged all this time.
Straight up and down

9 man rotation (3/5 we already have) Simmons/Green/Embiid. Fill out the PG/SG spot with necessary skill sets that function at a high level (we don’t have either currently speaking).
Milton/Maxey/Joe/Korkmaz/Harris/Howard etc etc, aren’t what I’m looking for in a 9 man rotation.

We have a sixth man in Curry. Move Ben to the 4 which is his correct position (Very versatile on defense but on offense I want this team to have a cut and dry 1-5).

??
??
Green (expiring but there’s plenty of solid 3&D types out there)
Simmons
Embiid

Bench:
Curry
Thybulle (or a another 3&D)
Stretch 4
Rim running center

This is the ideal setup. The sooner we get an actual functioning backcourt (it’s the main reason our offence and the team is crap without Ben/Embiid).

Lonzo/Morris/Hill/Lowry/Dragic/Oli/Derozan are all very very welcome additions.

The sad part too is the Suns have leaped frogged us in how to construct a team & they were a joke not too long ago.

Look at their starting lineup:

Paul
Booker
Bridges
Crowder
Ayton

No joke that’s a top 2 most well balanced team in the NBA. Incredibly complimentary from positions 1-5

Paul/Booker jeez that’s an ideal backcourt if a ever saw one
Paul/Ayton
Booker/Bridges
Paul/Crowder

Which ever way you look at it it’s superbly balanced. And they didn’t get all fancy with it. Cut and dry and now paying great dividends.

Shocked that some prefer guys like Oladipo or Hield over Tobi ...

The problem is not our big three bro. Those three are among one of the best trio around the league. It's the rest of the team which needs to be vastly upgraded.

I don’t know what to tell you there. From the eye it’s very clear how the team should be structured. Have you seen the team without Ben or Embiid?

A complimentary legit good PG/SG solves the huge backcourt issues that we continually face.
Ben is a 4 anyway. If you can’t see it

Last year they had amazing record early on (better that what we have now. Great net rating what have you. But cmon the structure was bogus.

That’s why I always believe Embiid/Simmons can coexist not only that but would
Be amplifying by the right kind of players around them who are they:

High lvl PG
High lvl SG
3&D

With 4 PF/C’s and a SG that can’t shoot that’ll happen. It isn’t that hard bro

Gut feeling is that recruits are going to be very expensive as lots of high profile teams are struggling and relatively few teams are out of playoff contention

In the East, Bucks/Celtics/Heat are all in need of reinforcements while the Raptors don’t tank and Knicks have cap space

I don't really see much difference between that and:

High lvl PG
3&D Wing
Tobias Harris

I think Harris provides a lot of the same skills you'd want out of a SG, with the bonus of being able to defend PFs so that Ben has the freedom. Being rigid with what position Ben defends needlessly takes away one of his greatest strengths.

Regardless, getting a high level PG and a high level SG isn't exactly an easy ask.

If you can get Lowry or Oladipo, I think you've got a really good roster build as is with either slotting into Danny's spot in the lineup. The bench still needs work, but Lowry-Harris-Simmons-Embiid is about as good of a top-4 as anyone out there, with the option of playing Shake, Curry or Thybulle with them depending on the situation/matchups.

If it's someone like LaVine or Hield you need a defensive guard to pair with them. That's where guys like Ball or Wright become a necessity.

Harris isn’t close to a high lvl sg
He’s booty with Embiid or Ben out. Per 36 is 20
Never average more than 3 assists
Can’t be a ballhandler
Isn’t an elite shooter of the catch
Not an elite scorer (easiest time to score)
Moved around 3 times hmm I wonder why?
Low free throw rate
Below average defender
Neutralized very easy
Never has been a great offensive threat
Hot trash in the playoffs
Horrible contract

Don’t need to go on.

I’ll take Morris/McCollum over any sort of backcourt combo we can come up with. We don’t need a 4 Ben’s a 4. Never said anything about being rigid on defence with Ben
PBen can defend whoever he wants. Defense isn’t a problem here

Harris for Hield + Bjelica pick swaps (Hield goes to the Rockets)

Hill for Expirings (Scott and co.) + 2 2nd rd picks

Hield + Korklord and a 1st for Oladipo

Hill
Oladipo
Green
Simmons
Embiid

Curry
Thybulle
Bjelica
Howard

Keep our two youngins (for later flexibility)
Milton
Maxey

I’ll crown myself EOY if I have too idc.

He's a good scorer that can score on and off the ball and doesn't kill you defensively.

I'd rather have CJ, but that's because he's a better player and more capable as on ball scorer, not because he's a SG.

I don't think it was wise to invest all that money into a guy that doesn't fill the biggest (and typically most expensive) hole between Ben and Jo of a high end on ball perimeter scorer, but just in general, I don't think he's a bad fit on the court with those guys.

Edit: oh, and I absolutely wouldn't want to pair CJ with a small PG in Morris. Much rather have him with a 3+D wing. CJ and Ben collectively give you plenty of PG skills.

Well if Tobi is that bad(and he is clearly not) u won't find anyone to be willing to trade for him so u may just have to deal with it.

And it's ok if u want to trade Tobi for someone better but hell no if it's just because u hate him.

CHI gets Harris and Poirier
-Tries to make the playoffs

DET gets Green, Scott, Porter, and two 2nds from PHI (to be negotiated, maybe '21 Knicks and '24 Heat? One good, one bad?)
-moves a cheeks contract while actually getting draft picks

PHI gets Markkanen, Griffin, Wright, and Bey
-Wright makes Curry better in the starting lineup, Bey is a very good prospect, Markkanen between Jo and Ben should amplify his offense and hide his defense, and Griffin can't be worse than Scott off the bench this year AND is a massive expiring they can use in the summer to acquire yet another piece.

Wright/Maxey
Curry/Milton/Korkmaz/Joe
Simmons/Thybulle/Bey/Ferguson
Markkanen/Griffin
Embiid/Howard/Bradley

Lol... We're not taking on Blake's deal. That's terrible. Probably wouldn't even be able to re-sign Lauri with how crazy team salary would be after that.

He's only temporary and his salary basically matches Tobias'.

I am not saying Blake is not terrible. I'm just saying it carries over a big salary slot and gives you extra time to decide what to do instead of by the trade deadline. Move Griffin on draft night and it's inconsequential cap-wise. You have RFA rights on Lauri, you can let that drag out a little if need be. No way he gets much more than Bertans.

They're crazy if they think a 28 year old averaging 7.5 ppg for his career can fetch a 1st round pick.

They can have our 2nd rounder (not the Knicks one) and expirings to match and that's all they're getting.
